As Senior Director, Strategic Finance, you will lead the team behind the financial case for some of Novo Nordisk’s most significant Business Development and strategic projects. From due diligence and valuation to finance integration of R&D acquisitions, you will give the CFO, Executive Management and the Deal Group clear, decision-ready insight. Your work helps Novo act on strategic opportunities with clarity and speed – and turn them into strong business outcomes that support lasting health.

What you’ll bring

You build trust across organisational and cultural boundaries and create momentum in complex settings. You exercise sound judgement, challenge assumptions constructively and keep learning. You will also bring:

  • A master’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a high-performing team.
  • A track record in financial due diligence and transaction evaluation, translating financial analysis into investment recommendations and negotiation input.
  • Experience leading finance integration after acquisitions, including coordinating finance functions and transitioning into established processes and systems.
  • A strong understanding of finance processes and systems, including FP&A, ERP, accounting and tax, and the ability to combine accounting, tax, treasury and legal perspectives to assess transaction risks.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional projects in a global finance organisation, backed by a robust project management toolbox and a structured approach to execution.

What you’ll do

You will shape transactions from first financial evaluation through to integration, making sure senior decision-makers have the insight they need, when they need it.

  • Drive financial due diligence across acquisitions, licensing opportunities and partnerships, bringing accounting, tax, treasury and legal perspectives together.
  • Provide valuation and contracting input that supports negotiations and investment decisions.
  • Lead finance integration for R&D acquisitions.
  • Support the CFO and Executive Management with clear, decision-ready financial analysis and business insight.
  • Partner across Global Business Development, Global Finance, Finance, Legal & Global Solutions and R&D to deliver aligned recommendations and outcomes.
  • Advance the use of AI in due diligence to improve the speed and quality of outputs.

Who you’ll work with

You will lead Strategic Finance, a team of 7 colleagues, and report to the Group Vice President of Business Finance. In Finance, Legal & Global Solutions, colleagues safeguard the business and help create value so Novo Nordisk can deliver on its purpose. Strategic Finance combines deep financial expertise with broad business understanding to strengthen decision-making, shape transactions and support successful integration.

Your closest partners will be the CFO, Global Business Development, Finance Operations and teams across the value chain, including R&D. You will turn complex financial matters into clear recommendations, bring functions together to solve problems and provide credible finance input when negotiations move fast.
