The posting

Your impact begins here

As Senior IT Windows Server Architect, you will set the vision for the Windows Server operating system platform across Novo Nordisk, and turn it into a roadmap. You will be the architectural authority for two segregated environments: the General Network for enterprise IT services and the Production Network for business-critical production systems. Your decisions will shape how the platform is designed, secured, automated and run for years to come, keeping the systems our business depends on stable every day.

What you’ll bring

You are an established architect who has already set direction for Windows Server platforms in large enterprise companies. You will bring:

· A proven track record in architecture roles, such as Windows Server Architect or Infrastruc-ture Architect, in large, complex enterprise organisations.

· A clear, well-reasoned vision for building a best-in-class Windows Server operating system platform, and the ability to turn that vision into roadmaps, standards and decisions.

· Deep expertise in Windows Server architecture and engineering at scale, including Active Di-rectory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI/certificate services and Windows authentication.

· Expert knowledge of Windows Server security and hardening, privileged access and adminis-trative security models, risk management and lifecycle management.

· Experience architecting high availability, clustering, backup, disaster recovery and resilience for business-critical production environments.

· Experience designing for strict network segregation, including segmentation, firewalls, load balancing and secure communication between network zones.

· A strong grasp of virtualisation (preferably VMware and/or Hyper-V), monitoring and enter-prise management platforms, PowerShell automation and patching architecture.

· The ability to translate business, security and operational requirements into practical archi-tecture, document it clearly and win support for it across teams.

Useful, but not essential:

· Experience with Azure, Azure Arc, hybrid infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management and modern automation platforms (highly desirable).

· Experience from regulated, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, financial, healthcare or other highly controlled environments.

What you’ll do

Together with the product owner, you will decide where the platform goes next. This is a strate-gic architecture role, not day-to-day server administration. You will:

· Own the enterprise Windows Server architecture, vision, roadmap and standards across the General and Production environments.

· Define and govern secure, standardised platforms, covering configuration, networking, stor-age, virtualisation, monitoring, backup and recovery.

· Set the security architecture and hardening standards for privileged access, authentication, service accounts, certificates, vulnerability management and compliance.

· Design architectures for segregated networks with secure integrations, controlled access, and high availability and disaster recovery standards that meet business recovery objectives.

· Lead modernisation, including upgrades, migrations, automation, Infrastructure as Code and reducing technical debt.

· Act as the senior technical authority, leading architectural governance and design reviews, and guiding infrastructure, security and application teams.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the Server Platform sub-department within Infrastructure Platforms, part of Enter-prise IT & Quality. The team operates and manages all enterprise servers at Novo Nordisk, cov-ering Windows and Linux in both public and private cloud. Its goal is to streamline server opera-tions across platforms and domains, so they run fast, reliably and in line with compliance re-quirements.

You will work with colleagues in the Philippines, India, Poland, the Czech Republic, Denmark and the United States. Alongside the product owner, you will partner with infrastructure engineer-ing, operations, cybersecurity, network, application, cloud and enterprise architecture teams. Your job is to bring them together around clear architectural decisions and move them forward.

Your hiring manager will be [insert hiring manager name and title].

What you can expect here

You will own the architecture of a platform the whole company relies on. You will be trusted to set direction, challenge convention and make your voice heard, then commit with the team once a decision is made. Working across two very different environments and a global team, you will keep building your skills as the platform moves towards hybrid cloud and automation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
