Job Description
As Procurement Team Lead at NTS Singapore, you will lead the procurement aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) and program delivery from concept through volume production. You will be responsible for ensuring that material cost, quality, delivery and supplier readiness meet project and customer requirements. Working closely with Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations, you will drive cross-functional execution, manage risks and ensure successful transition into production. You will also contribute to cost optimization, supplier development and continuous improvement across procurement programs.
Furthermore, your key responsibilities are:
- Lead end-to-end Procurement NPI and program delivery from concept through mass production, ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are achieved.
- Own NPI material cost and ensure total project cost meets or outperforms awarded pricing.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives in collaboration with Category Management and suppliers.
- Lead cross-functional coordination across Procurement, Engineering, Quality, SCM and Operations to ensure program alignment and execution.
- Drive supplier qualification and readiness activities, including FAI, pilot builds, ramp readiness and supplier capacity planning.
- Manage program risks, issues and escalations, develop recovery plans and act as the primary interface for material-related topics.
- Establish program governance, milestones and reporting cadence, and ensure a structured handover to Operations with full material and supplier readiness.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related field, with 5–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain or program management within a contract manufacturing, semiconductor or high-tech environment.
- Proven experience managing NPI programs, cost improvement projects and successfully transitioning products into volume production.
- Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain fundamentals, including sourcing, supplier management, cost control, lead times, MOQ, capacity planning and supplier qualification.
- Good understanding of complex mechanical, electromechanical and electrical assemblies, with knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, electronics and surface treatment.
- Strong program and project management skills, including planning, scheduling, milestone tracking, risk management, prioritization and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and customer-facing interactions.
- Good knowledge of the local market and neighbouring regions, including relevant supplier, manufacturing and procurement landscapes.
