Leveraging your strong technical expertise in sheet metal fabrication, precision machining, welding, coating, and mechanical assembly processes, you will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Program Management, Suppliers, and Customers to deliver robust quality performance throughout the product lifecycle.

The role will also focus on strengthening supplier quality performance, improving manufacturing process controls, reducing quality defects, and driving a culture of quality ownership and customer satisfaction throughout the organization.

Furthermore, your key responsibilities are:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers and QA/QC Inspectors supporting customer programs, suppliers, and manufacturing operations.
  • Serve as the primary quality interface for customers and act as the single point of contact for customer quality escalations.
  • Lead customer complaint investigations and ensure timely implementation of containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
  • Build strong customer relationships and drive customer satisfaction through proactive quality management.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex manufacturing, process, product, and supplier quality issues.
  • Drive quality improvements across sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, surface treatment, coating, and assembly operations.
  • Establish and maintain robust quality control plans, inspection standards, PFMEAs, process controls, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Monitor and improve customer quality and operational quality KPIs, including PPM, NCRs, COPQ, rework, scrap, yield, and corrective action effectiveness.
  • Lead internal audits and customer audits.
  • Drive CAPA effectiveness through the application of structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Analysis, PFMEA, and Statistical Analysis.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI), First Article Inspection (FAI), process validation, and production readiness activities.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to improve process capability, robustness, and manufacturing performance.
  • Foster a culture of quality ownership, accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with at least 7 years of quality engineering or management experience in sheet metal fabrication, precision machining, metalworking, or contract manufacturing.
  • Mandatory: Strong hands-on experience in both sheet metal fabrication and machining. Experience in only one of these areas is insufficient.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading Quality Engineers and QA teams, with proven team leadership and development capabilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, surface treatment and coating, mechanical assembly, GD&T, dimensional metrology, and inspection methods.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
