ABOUT THE ROLE

*Level: This is an IC role, without people management. A Senior Expert is equivalent to a Senior Manager role in a individual contributor path.

Nubank's Legal Team protects Nubank's interests and reputation by supporting the launch and sustainable growth of products and services. Legal is a strategic partner to every area of Nubank. It provides specialized legal analysis and proposes innovative solutions to the daily challenges of a constantly evolving digital environment, and it is committed to mitigating legal risk, anticipating issues and resolving disputes efficiently and fairly.

This is a senior position on our Global Strategic Contracts & Growth team, which supports strategic projects for Nubank's global growth. You will report to the Legal Director who leads this team. Interest in contributing actively to Nubank's products and business, and the ability to think innovatively and challenge the status quo, are essential.

We are looking for someone with M&A experience, particularly in the financial and technology sectors. You will lead the legal workstreams of these projects, including due diligence and negotiation of transaction documents, in close alignment with our Corporate Development team and external advisors. We anticipate transactions in different countries, so we want someone who can learn quickly and contribute to innovative projects.

The role also involves negotiating complex agreements (e.g., Banking-as-a-Service, payments, partnerships and negotiations with global vendors) and advising on tech and fintech products. We are looking for someone who is AI-forward and innovative, who uses AI tools to work faster and better, and who helps the team adopt new ways of working.

We are looking for a lawyer with experience in complex contracts, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to autonomously lead cross-functional projects on matters relevant to Nubank's growth.

This position should be located in one of the existing Nu's offices, preferably in São Paulo, Palo Alto or Miami.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Legal support on M&A, strategic partnerships and global contracts, including:

- M&A: leading Legal's work on M&A, including interactions with internal areas and outside counsel, coordinating legal due diligence, negotiating transaction agreements, supporting strategic discussions and measures to be implemented post-signing and post-closing.

- Strategic contracts: reviewing, negotiating and drafting contracts with global suppliers and strategic partners, with a focus on tech and fintech agreements - think innovative products. You will negotiate directly with counterparties and contribute to strategy and business vision.

- AI and innovation: Using and promoting AI tools in legal work (research, drafting, review) and helping the team become more efficient.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS

- Law degree and active admission to the New York Bar (in good standing);

- Experience in M&A, particularly in the financial and technology sectors (law firm or in-house);

- Experience with fintech products and in negotiating tech and fintech agreements;

- AI-forward and innovative mindset, with hands-on use of AI tools in legal work;

- Objective communication and proactive stakeholder management;

- Adaptability and fast learning;

- Holistic thinking;

- Proactive and curious attitude;

- Ability to solve problems creatively;

- Project management.

Nice to have:

- Brazilian bar (OAB) membership;

- Advanced Spanish.
