ABOUT THE ROLE

Our purpose is to support, influence and challenge Nubank business decisions by delivering value to the end-to-end sourcing processes through long-term & sustainable partnerships, all executed with efficient, agile and innovative technologies. The team's BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) is to be the best and least bureaucratic Procurement area in the technology segment by promoting cost efficiency through strategic long-term & sustainable partnerships with the highest skilled, diverse and engaged team.

The area is organized in four pillars: (1) Lead Negotiation at Scale, (2) Strategic Business Solutions, (3) Shape the Future of AI & Tech & Partnerships, and (4) the Procurement Services COE (Source to Pay).

This role leads Pillar 3, whose mandate is to shape the future of AI & Tech at Nubank and maximize value creation from strategic partners. It combines two scopes:

- Strategic Partnerships: business development and relationship management with a select group of global partners (such as Mastercard, Amazon, Apple and Google), focused on revenue generation, deal-making and partner governance.

- Technology: Cloud & Infrastructure, Software & Platforms, and the AI / LLM ecosystem, acting as the strategic partner to tech on cost, flexibility and build vs. buy decisions.

The role reports to the Procurement & Partnerships Principal and has frequent interaction with senior stakeholders inside Nu (CFO, CEO, Management Team, country and business unit leaders) and with senior executives at our partners.

YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Strategic Partnerships

- Act as the quarterback of each strategic relationship, owning the narrative and coordinating every Nu touchpoint with the partner across geographies and business units.

- Lead the Mastercard relationship, Nu's most relevant strategic partner, driving several initiatives across markets, from large global deals and incentive programs to product terms and new opportunities such as crypto and agentic payments.

- Identify, structure and negotiate deals that create or enhance revenue streams, such as co-developed products, incentive agreements and strategic commercial partnerships.

- Run partner governance (business reviews, planning sessions, escalation paths) and manage reputational, contractual and competitive risks, especially where partners may also compete with Nu.

- Keep the partner portfolio dynamic, evaluating new partners and opportunities and recommending exits when returns don't justify the effort.

Technology: Cloud, AI and Software

- Lead the strategy and negotiation of cloud, infrastructure and GPU contracts, running competitive processes across providers.

- Define the commercial strategy for AI / LLM consumption, balancing cost, flexibility and access to new technology.

- Manage the Software & Platforms portfolio, combining strategic reviews of top suppliers with an AI-assisted approach for the long tail.

- Anticipate how AI is reshaping the vendor market and advise the business on where to build, consolidate or renegotiate.

Leadership

- Lead and develop a team of category managers covering Cloud / AI and Software.

- Set the pillar's priorities and track initiatives from idea to realized impact.

- Promote the use of AI and automation in the team's own work.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS

Required

- Experience: In strategic partnerships, corporate development, strategy consulting or strategic procurement, closing large and complex deals, ideally in technology or financial services.

- Deal-making: Proven ability to structure and negotiate multi-year, revenue-generating commercial agreements.

- Technology and payments acumen: Understanding of cloud, SaaS and AI commercial models, and of card network and payments economics.

- Executive presence: Ability to influence senior executives at Nu and at global partners, with clear and concise communication.

- Stakeholder management: Ability to align many stakeholders across geographies and functions around one consistent narrative.

- Leadership: Experience leading and developing high-performance teams.

- Language: Advanced English is mandatory. Spanish is a plus.
