We are seeking an expert Senior Support Engineer with a strong background in Kubernetes, Linux systems administration, and technical support. This hybrid role is primarily focused on customer support, with opportunities to contribute to software development and system-level troubleshooting. You’ll help customers deploy and operate Slinky, investigate complex issues across Slinky, Kubernetes, and Slurm, and work with fellow engineers to help ensure Slinky operates reliably and efficiently. You’ll be equally comfortable supporting production environments, analyzing system performance, and writing reliable, maintainable code.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support customers deploying and operating Slinky
  • Debug and resolve Slinky issues related to deployment, reliability, and performance
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Slinky software, Kubernetes integrations, and tooling to address customer issues.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to industry standards
  • Build automated tests and troubleshooting tools to improve reliability and prevent regressions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Infrastructure, and Deployment teams.
  • Stay current with Kubernetes, containers, Linux, and related technologies.

What we need to see:

  • 5+ years in technical support and systems software development, plus a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, operators, scheduling, networking, storage, and cluster operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting production Kubernetes environments with logs, metrics, and debugging tools.
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and file systems.
  • Experience developing or maintaining software and automation in Go, C, or similar languages; familiarity with software development lifecycles and Agile.
  • Experience with containers and GPU technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, customer-focused communication, curiosity, and motivation to learn.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with Kubernetes operators, custom resources, and Helm. Background in system administration or High Performance Computing
  • Experience with Slinky, Slurm Workload Manager, or other HPC scheduling systems
  • Knowledge of operating system internals or hardware-software interaction
  • Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or HPC projects are a plus

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
