Program Overview

The NXP Americas Global Sales Summer Internship is a 12 week, paid program designed for rising juniors, seniors, and graduate students who combine a strong technical foundation with the drive and curiosity to work directly with customers. Interns are embedded in our Field Sales organization, paired with an experienced Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) mentor, and assigned real work from day one — not trainee tasks.

This internship is a primary pipeline into NXP's Technical Sales & Applications Program (TSAP), our early-career program for new college graduates pursuing full-time TSE roles. Strong performers may receive a return offer upon graduation.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Sales Engineering Intern, you will work alongside TSE mentors and the broader Americas sales team on customer-facing and market-facing projects that have real business impact. Sample responsibilities include:

Customer & Market Intelligence

  • Research and map target accounts within assigned territory or vertical market (Automotive, Industrial, or IoT)
  • Build stakeholder profiles and account maps for high-priority prospects
  • Develop competitive analyses and market landscape summaries to inform sales strategy

Sales Enablement & Tools

  • Create customer-ready collateral — one-pagers, pitch decks, and application notes — tailored by market segment
  • Support sales operations by tracking customer pipeline data, design-win funnel activity, and account status in Salesforce (CRM)
  • Build or refine dashboards and KPI tracking reports to support the regional sales team

Customer Engagement Support

  • Attend customer meetings, technical reviews, and product demonstrations alongside TSE mentors
  • Prepare meeting agendas, capture action items, and assist with follow-up communications
  • Shadow and support evaluations, proof-of-concept activities, and NXP solution demos

Technical Learning & Application

  • Develop working knowledge of NXP product portfolios (MCUs, MPUs, wireless connectivity, analog, power management) and their applications
  • Translate customer requirements into potential system-level NXP solutions with guidance from your mentor
  • Present your summer project findings to sales leadership in a final intern capstone presentation

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Rising junior, senior, or graduate student — expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher
  • Authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship available for intern roles)
  • Availability for 12 weeks full-time during Summer 2027 (May–August)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or project experience in embedded systems, analog/digital circuits, wireless communications, or power electronics
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers, FPGAs, or relevant development boards (e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32)
  • Exposure to programming languages such as C, C++, or Python
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Workspace tools
  • Familiarity with CRM concepts (Salesforce experience a plus)

Who Thrives Here

  • You are curious about technology and genuinely interested in how semiconductor solutions solve real-world problems
  • You can communicate clearly — in writing and in person — with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You are proactive, take ownership, and don't wait to be told what to do next
  • You are competitive with a desire to grow, learn fast, and contribute to team results
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and adapt well to changing priorities

What You'll Get

  • Competitive paid hourly compensation
  • Dedicated TSE mentor and day-to-day manager support throughout the program
  • Hands-on exposure to the full semiconductor sales cycle — from customer prospecting to design win
  • Participation in intern cohort events, including a professional development workshop series, executive speaker sessions, and cross-functional networking opportunities
  • Access to structured learning on NXP product portfolios and the semiconductor industry landscape
  • Potential relocation support or housing stipend (location-dependent)
  • Consideration for a return full-time offer into NXP's TSAP program upon graduation

Locations

Field Sales Offices across the United States — including but not limited to: Austin, TX | Detroit, MI | San Jose, CA

Preferred location will be discussed during the interview process. Hybrid work (in-office + remote) applies; some local customer travel may be expected.

How to Apply

Submit your application through NXP's careers portal at nxp.com/careers. Include your resume, unofficial transcript, and a brief statement (200–300 words) describing your interest in technical sales and a technology problem you find compelling.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Early application is strongly encouraged — positions fill quickly.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
