The posting

Property & Asset Officer

Salary: £46,000 per annum

Ready to build on your property experience and grow with an ambitious housing association?

Ocean Edge is recruiting a Property & Asset Officer for our client, a growing provider of affordable homes in Greater London. This is an opportunity for someone with experience in property, asset management or housing operations to broaden their skills and be part of an ambitious and expanding business.

You may already be working at officer level and looking for greater variety, responsibility and exposure to new developments. Joining a growing team, you will gain experience across asset information, property compliance, development handovers and property services, helping to ensure homes are safe, well maintained and effectively managed.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will help maintain reliable property and asset information, coordinate records and actions, and support the smooth handover of new homes into management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate property and asset records, including stock condition information, warranties and technical documents.
  • Coordinating compliance certificates, inspection records and action trackers, highlighting gaps and following up outstanding information.
  • Supporting new development handovers, ensuring essential property information and service arrangements are in place.
  • Supporting planned maintenance, property inspections and the monitoring of defects and remedial works.
  • Liaising with contractors, managing agents, consultants, development teams and specialist service providers.
  • Producing reports and identifying practical improvements to systems, processes and data quality.

The role combines detailed information management with practical coordination and site visits, giving you a broad understanding of how a growing housing business manages its homes.

About you

You will bring experience in property, asset management, housing operations, building services or a comparable environment, together with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

You should have:

  • Experience maintaining property, asset, compliance or operational records.
  • A good understanding of property maintenance and the importance of reliable compliance evidence.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence using databases or other structured information systems.
  • The ability to produce accurate reports, manage competing priorities and follow actions through to completion.
  • Experience coordinating activity with contractors, consultants or other external providers.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.

Experience within a housing association, registered provider, local authority or residential property business would be useful. Exposure to development handovers, planned maintenance, managing agents or heat networks would also be welcome.

Why consider this role?

Our client recognises the value of attracting an experienced officer who is ready to develop further. The £46,000 salary reflects that ambition, alongside the opportunity to gain broader experience and develop your skills as the business grows.

We encourage early applications. We will review applications as they arrive and may appoint before the advertised closing date, so please apply promptly to ensure you are considered.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
