Octane is hiring a Capital Markets Associate to join our NYC based team. You will be reporting into the VP of Capital Markets and working closely with the rest of our team, including the CFO, to maintain our existing capital partner relationships and assist in forging new ones. You will be heavily involved in streamlining financial reporting, including simplifying data integration, conducting daily analyses, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. You should be hyper collaborative, open to challenge, and have the ability to work across the organization with people in finance, engineering, credit, and operations.

This position is hybrid 4 days a week in our NYC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the structuring, execution, and ongoing management of warehouse financing facilities, including borrowing base analysis, covenant compliance, collateral eligibility, lender reporting, and amendments or renewals.
  • Support asset backed securitizations across the deal lifecycle, including transaction structuring, collateral analysis, cash flow modeling, rating agency processes, investor diligence, legal documentation, and settlement.
  • Support the execution and ongoing management of loan sale and forward flow programs, overseeing pricing analysis, collateral selection, purchase mechanics, investor reporting, and performance monitoring.
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate funding costs, advance rates, excess spread, cash flows, returns, liquidity, and capital efficiency across existing and prospective financing alternatives.
  • Assist in evaluating and onboarding new financing partners, including banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and private credit funds, while driving ongoing relationship management and fundraise execution.
  • Analyze originations, credit characteristics, delinquencies, losses, and prepayments to track collateral performance, fulfilling ongoing lender, investor, and rating agency diligence requests.
  • Partner directly with Finance, Credit, Accounting, Legal, Engineering, and Data teams to align portfolio management initiatives and inform strategic capital markets decision making.
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to optimize financial modeling, data integrity, reporting, and diligence workflows, continuously improving the scalability of Octane's capital markets infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative field; an advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or MBA) is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience, ideally in investment banking, capital markets, fintech, financial services, consulting, or corporate finance.
  • Advanced mastery of Excel, strong SQL skills for querying large and disparate datasets, and proven experience constructing data-driven financial reports. Python proficiency is a plus.
  • Exceptional critical thinking capabilities and quantitative rigor, with a sharp attention to detail in complex data analysis.
  • Ability to operate independently with high ownership while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial and data insights for diverse cross-functional audiences.
  • Strong organizational agility and time-management skills, with a track record of balancing multiple competing priorities and delivering high-quality work across functional teams.

Compensation: In addition to salary, Total Rewards include a stock option package, and benefits as outlined below. The role described above offers a base salary of $130,000 to $160,000. Your offer will be based on location, the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity.

Benefits:

  • Robust Health Care Plans (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Generous Parental Leave
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO) Policy - Time Off When You Need It
  • Retirement Plan (401k) with company match!
  • Educational Assistance/Tuition Reimbursement up to $3K/year
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Short Term / Long Term Disability
  • Robust Ancillary benefits including accident insurance, hospital insurance, etc
  • Wellhub (Gympass) Wellness Benefit

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
