About OfficeSpace:

OfficeSpace Software provides the leading AI operating system for the built world, that helps teams plan, connect, and perform in the workplace. As a performance-based, PE-backed company, we hire based on merit and a willingness to do what it takes to succeed long-term. You’re a great fit for the role if you’re entrepreneurial, passionate, motivated by building at light speed, and an Agentic AI early adopter. Our world-class teams operate in the US, Canada, and Costa Rica in a culture of trust, respect, growth, and impact.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead four distinct but connected areas: our intern program, intern-staffed maintenance team, Quality Engineering, and Solutions Engineering.

You'll lead people at different stages of their careers, from university interns building production experience to senior technical ICs solving complex quality, performance, and customer challenges. Team leads will continue to own day-to-day technical direction. You'll own people leadership, talent development, operating health, and coordination across the portfolio.

This is a broad leadership role for someone who can build strong teams, use data to drive decisions, and make AI part of how work gets done. We move fast. You'll help these teams move with more clarity, quality, and leverage.

What you'll do

  • Lead, coach, and develop people across the intern program, maintenance, Quality Engineering (QE), and Solutions Engineering (SE), while partnering closely with team leads on technical direction.
  • Build clear goals and development plans for direct reports. Run effective 1:1s, deliver actionable feedback, and create meaningful opportunities for career growth.
  • Own the intern program from recruiting through conversion, including university partnerships, candidate selection, onboarding, mentorship, cohort programming, performance feedback, and offboarding.
  • Build a repeatable intern experience that connects academic learning with meaningful production engineering work.
  • Lead the operating model for the intern-staffed maintenance team. Partner with technical leads to prioritize bugs, performance issues, and technical debt while improving cycle time, backlog health, and learning outcomes.
  • Drive QE priorities and quarterly initiatives, including performance testing with k6 and performance monitoring through Grafana or equivalent tools.
  • Turn performance, quality, and observability signals into action. Surface regressions and risks early and partner with engineering teams to improve release quality.
  • Lead and develop the Solutions Engineering team while strengthening escalation paths, operating rhythms, and trust with CX/Support.
  • Build a shared operating view across QE, maintenance, SE, and the intern program using metrics that expose trends, risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities.
  • Use AI to accelerate analysis, planning, documentation, triage, reporting, and other repeatable management workflows, while keeping human judgment where context, coaching, or accountability matters.
  • Identify high-value opportunities for AI agents and automation across maintenance triage, QE analysis, SE operations, and intern-program administration.
  • Help your teams build practical AI fluency. Set clear expectations for responsible use, verification, and human ownership of AI-assisted work.
  • Shape quarterly OKRs and represent these teams in engineering planning and QBRs with concise, data-backed recommendations.
  • Improve the system continuously. Find friction, test better workflows, measure the result, and scale what works.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience managing engineers or technical teams, ideally across multiple disciplines or team types.
  • A strong software engineering foundation and the technical judgment to engage credibly in quality, performance, maintenance, and customer-facing engineering conversations.
  • Experience recruiting, coaching, and developing technical talent, including interns or early-career engineers.
  • Experience running an internship, apprenticeship, or similar early-career program. Experience partnering with universities or academic institutions is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of performance testing tools such as k6 and observability platforms such as Grafana, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience managing multiple teams, workstreams, or stakeholder groups with different priorities and operating rhythms.
  • Strong cross-functional skills, particularly when working across Engineering, CX/Support, and external partners.
  • Practical AI fluency. You use AI tools in real workflows to improve speed, quality, analysis, or decision support, not simply to generate text.
  • The ability to design AI-assisted workflows that combine strong prompts, structured context, tool use, verification, and human judgment.
  • Strong analytical judgment. You can turn operational metrics into clear priorities and actions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including experience presenting recommendations and results to engineering leadership.
  • Experience setting quarterly goals or OKRs and creating accountability around measurable outcomes.
  • A leadership style grounded in clarity, trust, coaching, and ownership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
