The posting

The Package Attendant provides prompt and professional service by receiving, tracking, storing, and distributing packages, mail, and deliveries for hotel guests, meeting attendees, and hotel departments. This position ensures that all items are handled securely and delivered accurately while maintaining guest privacy. Essential Responsibilities

Receive packages, mail, luggage shipments, and other deliveries. Verify the recipient’s name, reservation, room number, group, or hotel department. Accurately record deliveries in the hotel’s package-tracking system. Label, organize, and securely store packages until they are collected or delivered. Notify guests and hotel departments when packages arrive. Deliver items to guestrooms, meeting rooms, banquet spaces, and hotel offices. Verify identification and obtain signatures before releasing packages. Process applicable package-handling or delivery fees. Coordinate outgoing shipments and carrier pickups for guests. Properly handle oversized, fragile, refrigerated, valuable, or confidential items. Research missing, delayed, damaged, or incorrectly addressed deliveries. Maintain an organized, clean, and secure package room. Communicate with the Front Desk, Bell/Door, Concierge, Banquets, Security, and other departments. Follow hotel procedures for unclaimed, suspicious, or prohibited packages. Protect guest information and maintain confidentiality. Assist with bell services and other guest-service responsibilities when needed. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous hotel, shipping/receiving, mailroom, or customer-service experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Professional communication and guest-service skills. Basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn hotel and package-tracking systems. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hotel environment. Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and safely lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to operate luggage carts, package carts, and related equipment safely.
