The posting

We’re expanding the development team behind our Drives product portfolio and are looking for a power electronics hardware engineer with experience in power electronics development. This position focuses on developing the hardware platforms our drives are built on.

OJ Electronics – a Danish producer of HVAC drives, AHU controllers, and thermostats for electric floor heating – is looking for a hardware engineer to join our Hardware R&D team in Sønderborg, Denmark.

In this role, you will work in cross-functional development teams alongside specialists in software, mechanics, testing, and product management. Your work will involve transforming technical requirements and product ideas into robust hardware designs that meet demanding performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Your involvement will apply from the earliest concept and simulation stages to validation and final implementation – with opportunities to influence technical decisions and product performance throughout.

Your role

As part of the hardware development team, you’ll help design, validate and improve the power electronics hardware that forms the foundation of our drives platform.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in development activities from concept phase through production release
  • Developing power electronics hardware for motor-control and broader drive applications
  • Translating technical requirements into hardware designs and implementations
  • Performing simulations, validation, and verification of hardware designs
  • Resolving technical challenges related to performance, reliability, and compliance
  • Collaborating closely with software, testing, mechanics, and product management teams
  • Supporting testing and validation activities related to standards and special application requirements

Must-have qualifications

  • Master’s degree or engineering degree in electronics or a related field
  • Experience with electronic design and hardware development – preferably power electronics
  • Experience with inverter design, DC-link design, thermal design and derating, EMC
  • Experience validating electronic hardware through testing and verification
  • Knowledge of power electronics and motor-control systems
  • Experience working with ACIM, PMSM, or BLDC motor technologies
  • Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB or similar platforms
  • Experience developing hardware for drives or motor-control applications
  • Danish language skills are a strong plus
  • Structured and proactive approach to technical problem-solving
  • Experience working in cross-functional development teams

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
