POSITION TITLE: Senior Engineer - Information Systems
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Technology Services/Technology Service Center
STATUS: Classified - Exempt, Full Time
HOURS OF WORK: 40+ hours a week, 242-day Calendar
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for full support of the district wide business systems in both development and production support. This position is expected to collaborate with all teams within the Technology Support Services department as well as personnel and leadership including both human resources, the business and Finance department and various other stakeholders. This position is part of the Information Systems department and reports to Assistant Director of Information Systems.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as the district’s lead and technical expert for all business-critical systems and integrated applications.
Plan for and test software updates, defects, and configuration changes.
Develop strategies, documentation, project, and test plans. Prioritize tasks and multi-task.
Act as the team lead, providing technical mentorship, and guidance to the business information systems
team as required.
Develop and maintain current procedural and training documents on all components of the current system used to support the district business software.
Collaborate with human resources, business & finance and other stakeholders to address any training needs of district staff.
Coordination with Database Administrators to maintain configuration, plan for future development and upgrades, offer information critical to tuning and maintaining database functionality.
Ensure best practices and procedures followed for collecting and maintaining data and documentation for all business systems.
Support and continue implementation of the district’s business Enterprise Resource Planning software – Currently Oracle Cloud Fusion.
Oversee the gathering, planning, and implementation of all workflows – Oracle Cloud Fusion.
Support team members in the creation of business reports for district divisions and stakeholders using Oracle Cloud and other district systems.
Create business continuation plans for the district’s critical business functions.
Develop testing strategies to reduce defects in development, test, and production.
Strong understanding of school operations and business software functionality.
Perform other duties, as assigned by the Assistant Director of Information Systems, for the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective functioning of district applications and software
Education and Experience Requirements:
· 3-5 Years’ experience working in the IT industry preferred
· Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field or relevant education/experience
· SQL and database experience, including developing and maintaining queries for reports and data integrations Required
· Oracle Cloud Fusion and management experience preferred
· Microsoft Azure Dataverse integration experience preferred
· Proven experience in translating and refining business requirements into enterprise solutions
· Must be able to work outside a normal 8-hour workday when required
· Previous experience with any of the district’s business application software would be considered and asset
· Previous management or leadership experience required

· Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

when necessary

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)
· Ability to self-initiate areas of opportunity, make recommendations for improvement, and follow up as
necessary to achieve desired results
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the performance of light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The position is in a normal office setting with exposure to computers, with interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule.
The work is sedentary, although a frequent amount of reaching, walking, and standing is necessary, an occasional amount of lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, and some stooping, kneeling and/or crouching as well as a significant amount of fine finger dexterity is required in carrying out the essential duties of this position. The position is performed in generally hazard free environment and a clean atmosphere
