The posting

Company Description

We are Olsson. We engineer and design solutions that improve the world around us. As a company, we promise to always be responsive, transparent, and focused on results – for our people, our clients, and our company.

We’re a people-centric firm, so it’s no surprise our greatest asset is our people. The impact this creates is an environment that encourages our people to grow and be creative with their talents. This approach builds a culture that is uniquely Olsson. It allows us to grow our people as we grow our business. This, in turn, creates a lasting impact on the world around us.

Job Description

We are seeking a Corporate Recruiter with 2-4 years of experience to support Olsson’s field-based and technical teams, including Geospatial, Survey, Geotechnical, Construction Materials Testing (CMT), Construction Admin & Management (CAM), and related disciplines. This role will manage a high volume of hiring across engineering, technical, field, and skilled-trade positions while partnering closely with leaders to understand evolving staffing needs. The recruiter will also provide hands-on support throughout the hiring process, including occasional travel to local offices and lab locations for interviews and recruiting needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical and operational leadership to understand staffing needs and develop recruiting strategies for a wide variety of field and technical positions.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, including sourcing and engaging talent, screening candidates, coordinating and facilitating interviews, advising hiring managers through candidate selection, managing offer discussions, and overseeing preemployment steps to ensure smooth and timely onboarding.
  • Manage a high volume of open positions and candidates, staying organized and responsive as priorities and hiring needs change.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates and leaders, ensuring an inclusive and positive experience for all stakeholders.
  • Utilize a variety of recruiting approaches, including job boards, referrals, networking, targeted outreach, and passive sourcing, based on the needs of each position.
  • Partner closely with local teams and travel to nearby office and lab locations as needed to support interviews and recruiting activities.

We are looking for someone who enjoys a fast-paced recruiting environment and is comfortable supporting a wide variety of positions, from professional engineering roles to field technicians and skilled-trade talent. Strong organization, clear communication, adaptability, and the ability to build relationships with both candidates and hiring leaders will be essential. This recruiter will play an important role in keeping Olsson’s field teams staffed and supporting ongoing hiring needs across multiple locations.

Qualifications

You are passionate about:

  • Working collaboratively with others.
  • Having ownership in the work you do.
  • Using your talents to positively affect communities.

You bring to the team:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of recruiting experience, ideally supporting high-volume, field-based, engineering, construction, skilled-trade, or technical positions.
  • Agency recruiting experience and/or experience recruiting across a broad variety of positions is preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple openings and candidate pipelines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to quickly understand different roles, teams, and staffing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to stay composed, think ahead, and pivot as hiring needs change.
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally to Olsson office and lab locations as recruiting needs require.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
