We are seeking a Java Developer to build, integrate, and maintain specialized enterprise applications and business-critical software platforms. In this remote contract role, you will contribute to connecting Java services with existing systems, enhancing application capabilities, and supporting complex operational workflows. You will work with technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices to deliver reliable and maintainable software solutions. Depending on the project, you may also work with industry-specific platforms, middleware, Linux environments, and emerging AI technologies. Collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders, you will translate requirements into practical implementations while ensuring application quality and performance. This opportunity is ideal for a developer who enjoys solving integration challenges, adapting to diverse technical environments, and contributing to specialized enterprise technology projects.

Accountabilities:

  • Java Application Development: Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based applications and services that support specialized enterprise platforms and business processes.
  • System Integration: Connect Java applications with existing systems, third-party platforms, and enterprise services to ensure reliable data exchange and seamless interoperability.
  • API Development: Design, implement, test, and maintain REST APIs that enable communication between applications and support evolving business requirements.
  • Framework and Platform Development: Use Spring and Spring Boot, where applicable, to build maintainable backend services and implement platform enhancements.
  • Enterprise Application Support: Contribute to the development and maintenance of established enterprise applications, ensuring their functionality aligns with operational and business needs.
  • Requirements Analysis: Work with technical and business stakeholders to understand project objectives, assess system requirements, and translate them into effective software solutions.
  • Testing and Debugging: Perform software testing, troubleshoot application issues, identify defects, and implement fixes to maintain software quality and reliability.
  • Production Support: Help investigate and resolve issues affecting live applications, supporting system stability and ongoing operational performance.
  • Specialized Platform Integration: Depending on project assignments, contribute to integrations involving Adobe Experience Manager, Facets, mainframe systems, healthcare regulatory applications, or other domain-specific platforms.
  • Middleware and Technical Connectivity: Support integrations involving messaging systems, middleware, and components developed in other programming languages, including C and C++, where required.
  • Emerging Technology Integration: Contribute to projects involving AI services, large language models (LLMs), Model Context Protocol (MCP) services, or data-processing technologies such as Spark, depending on assignment needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with developers, technical specialists, and business teams to deliver project milestones, resolve technical challenges, and maintain effective communication throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Java Development Experience: Hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and supporting Java-based applications and backend services.
  • Application and Integration Expertise: Experience building or integrating Java applications, services, or APIs within enterprise environments.
  • Spring Framework Knowledge: Familiarity with Spring or Spring Boot, depending on the requirements of the assigned project.
  • REST API Development: Understanding of RESTful API design, implementation, testing, and integration with internal or external systems.
  • Enterprise Systems Knowledge: Ability to work with established applications, specialized platforms, and interconnected software systems.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess technical requirements, identify appropriate solutions, troubleshoot issues, and implement reliable software improvements.
  • Testing and Production Support: Experience testing, debugging, maintaining, or supporting software in production environments.
  • Linux and Microservices Familiarity: Knowledge of Linux, microservices, and enterprise application architectures is beneficial.
  • Specialized Platform Experience: Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager, Facets, mainframe systems, or healthcare regulatory applications is an advantage.
  • Integration Technologies: Experience with middleware, messaging systems, or integrating Java applications with C/C++ components is desirable.
  • AI and Emerging Technologies: Exposure to AI services, LLMs, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or related integration patterns is beneficial for relevant assignments.
  • Data Processing and Analytics: Familiarity with Apache Spark or financial analytics technologies is an advantage.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, collaborate with technical and business stakeholders, and contribute effectively to project teams.
  • Adaptability and Ownership: Willingness to work across different technical environments, learn unfamiliar platforms, and take responsibility for delivering quality software solutions.
  • Work Authorization: Must meet the applicable work authorization requirements for the United States and the specific contract assignment.
  • Competitive Contract Rate: Indicative compensation of $80–$90 per hour, depending on the assignment, experience, and agreed contract terms.
  • Remote Work Flexibility: Opportunity to work remotely from the United States, subject to project requirements.
  • Diverse Technical Assignments: Potential to contribute to enterprise integrations, platform enhancements, backend development, and specialized business applications.
  • Broad Technology Exposure: Opportunities to work with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, Linux, and enterprise integration technologies.
  • Specialized Project Experience: Potential exposure to healthcare systems, financial analytics, mainframe environments, content management platforms, and emerging AI technologies, depending on the assignment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
