The posting

Omniscient is an organic growth agency that builds revenue-focused organic growth systems for B2B software companies — optimized for both search engines and generative AI.

We pride ourselves on being lean, agile, and experimental. Our team thrives on R&D and innovation, always exploring the smartest ways to deliver exceptional results. We believe in a culture of building and shipping — whether it’s client deliverables, new services, or internal tools that keep us ahead of the game.

If you’re looking for a role where you’ll tackle challenging problems, work with ambitious brands, and help shape the future of organic growth, let’s talk.

Learn about the principles https://beomniscient.com/principles/ that drive how we work and build a company.

About This Role We're hiring a native Japanese-speaking content editor and writer to edit and create long-form content in Japanese for our B2B SaaS clients. This is a freelance position. Most of the work will be editing and refining LLM-generated drafts so they read naturally, accurately, and persuasively for Japanese professional audiences. You'll also write original content from scratch when a project calls for it. You'll work closely with our editorial team to produce well-researched, engaging, AEO and SEO-optimized content that drives results.

We're ideally looking for someone based between GMT-0 and GMT+9, so you can collaborate easily with our Japan and EU teams. We may be open to other time zones for the right candidate.

If you're a native Japanese speaker with a sharp editorial eye, you're comfortable working with AI-generated content, and you enjoy digging into complex topics, we'd love to hear from you. The application passcode is 言葉の職人. Please note that we do not work with writers or editors who subcontract their work.

Responsibilities

- Edit LLM-generated drafts into polished, natural Japanese. You'll spot and fix the telltale signs of machine-generated text, such as awkward phrasing, unnatural sentence rhythm, literal translations, inconsistent register, and factual inaccuracies. The finished piece should read as if a skilled native writer wrote it.

- Write high-quality, long-form content in Japanese from scratch across a variety of B2B, SaaS, and technical topics. You'll create informative, engaging, and well-researched content for professional audiences in the Japanese market.

- Fact-check and verify claims, statistics, and sources in every draft. LLM content can sound confident and still be wrong, so you'll make sure everything is accurate and properly supported.

- Conduct thorough research to understand client products, target audiences, and industry context. Your work will be rooted in real understanding, not surface-level fluff.

- Localize content for Japanese readers, not just translate it. You know how Japanese business audiences expect information to be structured, framed, and supported, and you'll adapt examples, tone, and references to match.

- Use our internal briefs to structure and outline articles clearly and effectively. Our briefs give direction, and you'll bring clarity, logic, and structure to each piece.

- Incorporate keywords and AEO/SEO best practices without compromising readability or quality. You'll balance search optimization with a natural, audience-first style that fits Japanese search behavior.

- Adapt your style to match the voice and tone of different client brands. You're comfortable moving between registers, including appropriate use of keigo, depending on the brand and audience.

- Collaborate with our Japan and EU editorial teams across time zones. You'll revise and refine content based on feedback and communicate clearly with the Editorial Strategist about progress, questions, or blockers. You'll join occasional meetings with the internal team and client teams.

- Consistently meet deadlines. You'll stay on top of timelines and keep communication proactive and respectful.

Who You Are

- A native Japanese speaker. Native-level written fluency is required. You write and edit with confidence for a native Japanese audience.

- An experienced editor and writer with 2–3 years of experience editing and/or writing content for marketing, SEO, or B2B brands.

- Comfortable working with AI-generated content. You've edited LLM output before, or you're confident you can quickly recognize and fix its weak points in Japanese.

- Professionally proficient in English. Briefs, feedback, and team communication are primarily in English.

- Detail-oriented, with a strong grasp of Japanese grammar, style conventions, and consistency (e.g., notation, katakana usage, punctuation, and terminology).

- Skilled at simplifying complex information into clear, actionable content. You enjoy making technical or abstract ideas accessible and engaging.

- Familiar with SEO fundamentals and how to write for both readers and search engines. You know how to format, structure, and optimize without sounding robotic.

- Comfortable writing for different audiences, from technical practitioners to business decision-makers.

- Organized and self-motivated. You can manage your own workload, hit deadlines, and juggle multiple assignments reliably.

- Open to feedback and collaborative by nature. You see feedback as a tool for growth, not a critique of your ability.

- Friendly, curious, and passionate about producing truly valuable content. You care about the craft and want your work to matter.

- A degree in journalism, Japanese language or literature, linguistics, translation, creative writing, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Portfolio Requirement Please submit 3–5 samples of written or edited content in Japanese. At least 2 should focus on B2B, SaaS, or technical topics. We'd especially like to see editing work, such as a before-and-after example or a piece you substantially revised. Older samples are fine if paired with more recent work.

Our Hiring Process We read every application and aim to get back to you within a few weeks of submission. Response times may vary depending on the time of year, number of applicants, and other factors. However, we are urgently hiring for this role. If we're interested in moving forward with your application, we'll likely reach out sooner via email.

Benefits of working with us We're here to enable you to do great work and grow.

- We're a 100% remote company, so you can work from anywhere

- You'll improve your SEO, editorial, marketing, and project management skills

- Ownership: there are ample opportunities to take on more responsibility

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
