The posting

Overview

At Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, part of One Brooklyn Health (OBH), education, clinical readiness, research integrity, and patient safety are central to how we prepare today’s healthcare teams and develop the next generation of clinicians. The Simulation Program & Institutional Review Boards (IRB) Manager plays a key role in advancing that work by supporting high-quality simulation-based education and well-organized Institutional Review Board operations across a mission-driven healthcare environment serving the communities of Central and Eastern Brooklyn.

Reporting to the Simulation Director, with a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Medical Education for IRB-related responsibilities, this position oversees the daily coordination, operations, documentation, and administrative processes that support simulation training, American Heart Association life support programs, interprofessional education, and human subjects research administration.

This role works closely with Graduate Medical Education (GME), Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), nursing, allied health, faculty, residents, fellows, investigators, research staff, and institutional leaders to ensure that learning experiences and IRB processes are efficient, compliant, responsive, and aligned with the standards of Brookdale Hospital Medical Center and One Brooklyn Health.

The Simulation Program & IRB Manager is ideal for a highly organized, service-oriented professional who thrives in an academic healthcare setting, values collaboration, and wants to contribute to a program that strengthens clinical education, supports research compliance, and helps advance the health and well-being of the Brooklyn communities we serve.

Responsibilities

Simulation Program Operations:

  • Manage the daily operations, scheduling, and coordination of the Simulation Program.
  • Coordinate simulation activities for GME, UME, nursing, allied health, and other clinical training programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for simulation requests, logistics, room setup, learner flow, and faculty support.
  • Ensure effective use of simulation space, equipment, supplies, and program resources.
  • Support interprofessional education, team-based training, special events, and institutional initiatives.

IRB Administration & Research Compliance:

  • Oversee administrative coordination of Institutional Review Board activities in collaboration with Medical Education and IRB leadership.
  • Coordinate protocol submissions, amendments, continuing reviews, closures, agendas, minutes, correspondence, and follow-up actions.
  • Serve as a resource for investigators, faculty, residents, fellows, and research staff regarding IRB submission requirements and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate IRB records, files, meeting materials, and compliance-related documentation.
  • Support timely, organized, and compliant IRB processes while ensuring formal review decisions remain with the IRB.

Equipment, Inventory & Technology:

  • Maintain simulation equipment, task trainers, mannequins, audiovisual resources, supplies, and training materials.
  • Conduct routine inventory checks and ensure equipment is functional, clean, organized, and ready for use.
  • Coordinate repairs, replacements, maintenance, vendor support, and equipment procurement as needed.
  • Track supply levels, equipment utilization, and lifecycle needs.

AHA Life Support Training Coordination:

  • Coordinate American Heart Association training programs, including BLS, ACLS, and PALS, as applicable.
  • Schedule courses, instructors, learners, rooms, equipment, and materials.
  • Track certifications, expirations, recertification needs, attendance, and course completion records.
  • Support compliance reporting related to life support training requirements.

Budget, Documentation & Reporting:

  • Monitor the Simulation Program budget, expenses, purchasing activity, supplies, equipment costs, and service agreements.
  • Assist with budget planning, forecasting, reporting, and cost-control efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records of simulation sessions, participation, resource utilization, IRB activity, and training compliance.
  • Support data collection, program evaluation, quality improvement, accreditation needs, and leadership reporting.

Collaboration & Administrative Support:

  • Collaborate with faculty, residents, fellows, students, nursing leaders, allied health programs, investigators, research staff, vendors, and institutional departments.
  • Coordinate meetings, committee activities, agendas, minutes, materials, communications, and follow-up items.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Simulation Director and Director of Medical Education.
  • Promote a professional, responsive, service-oriented environment for learners, faculty, staff, and institutional partners.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
