We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to develop and support scalable, secure, and reliable backend applications and microservices. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality business capabilities and digital experiences.
Qualifications and Experience
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- 1-3+ years of backend software engineering experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and modern software engineering principles.
- Experience developing microservices and backend applications using object-oriented or functional programming practices.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs and GraphQL, including queries, mutations, authentication, authorization, validation, and error handling.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native application architecture.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, data modeling, query optimization, and caching.
- Understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and distributed-system concepts.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, validation, and documentation; familiarity with containers, event-driven systems, and infrastructure as code is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support backend applications, APIs, and microservices.
- Translate product and technical requirements into reliable, maintainable software solutions.
- Build integrations with internal and external systems using REST, GraphQL, messaging, and event-driven workflows.
- Implement secure data access, authentication, authorization, input validation, and error-handling mechanisms.
- Monitor application health and troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, tracing, and alerts.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, release planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with product, front-end, platform, data, and DevOps teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Apply responsible AI-assisted development practices to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.
