JOB SUMMARY

ONEOK is seeking a Lab Technician to support laboratory testing, sample collection, equipment maintenance, and product quality assurance within our Natural Gas Liquids segment in Bridgeport, Texas. This role will collect and analyze process water, natural gas liquids, and product samples to help ensure compliance with product specifications, applicable testing standards, and safe operating practices. Key responsibilities include performing tests such as vapor pressure, specific gravity, corrosion, sulfur, composition, moisture content, lean oil testing, chromatographic analysis, dew point testing, and glycol analysis; maintaining and calibrating laboratory and process equipment; preparing testing data, reports, recommendations, schedules, and procedures; and ensuring sample collection cylinders are properly maintained and compliant with applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on aptitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions while working safely around high-pressure products, hazardous materials, laboratory tools, and process equipment. ONEOK is especially interested in someone who is willing to learn, works well with their hands, contributes as a dependable team player, and can communicate and document information clearly. A strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Excel and Teams, is important for preparing reports, tracking test data, and collaborating with the team.

This position is based on site in Bridgeport, Texas, Monday through Friday. Candidates with experience collecting samples, conducting gas processing or natural gas liquids testing, using or maintaining equipment such as chromatographs, pH meters, centrifuges, vapor pressure equipment, and distillation equipment, and interpreting test data, procedures, PFDs, PIDs, GPA analytical data, and industry standards may be especially well aligned for this opportunity. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Job Profile Summary

Collects and analyzes process water and product samples, ensuring compliance with product specifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze water samples. Determine treatment to maintain chemical balance, adding appropriate chemicals to water systems as necessary
  • Collect and analyze product samples to ensure quality, performing tests including but not limited to:Vapor pressure Specific gravity Corrosion Sulfur Composition Moisture content
  • Perform and interpret plant operational tests including but not limited to the following:Lean oil testing Chromatographic analyses of gas and liquid steams Dew points Glycol
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and calibration on laboratory and process equipment and tools. Ensure proper supplies and equipment are available
  • Compile, verify, and/or prepare information, reports, and/or correspondence including but not limited to:Test data results Recommendations Testing schedules Testing procedures Letters and memos
  • Responsible for sample collection cylinders which included but is not limited to ensuring proper maintenance as well as compliance with applicable regulations

Education

  • None Required.

Work Experience

  • Experience collecting samples and conducting various tests related to gas processing.
  • Experience in the use, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment applicable to position including but not limited to: Chromatograph PH meter Centrifuge Vapor pressure and distillation equipment
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and/or preparing written information including but not limited to: Test data results and recommendations Testing methods and procedures Interpretation of process flow diagrams (PFD’s) and process instrument diagrams (PID’s) Gas Processing Association (GPA) Analytical Data Industry Standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of: gas processing and/or natural gas liquids and applicable testing, analyses, and regulations
  • Knowledge of: safety practices related to high pressure products and hazardous materials
  • Knowledge of: word processing and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to: apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, percentages, and algebraic formulas
  • Ability to: communicate and/or exchange information and instructions; conduct oral presentations and/or meetings
  • Ability to: operate tools and equipment required.

Licenses and Certifications

  • State certified Lab Technician may be required depending on the location of the facility

  • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
