Partners with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and other stakeholders to define estimating assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and deliver fit-for-purpose cost and resource estimates aligned with safety, regulatory, operational, and service expectations. Applies estimating discipline, process knowledge, and data-driven insights to strengthen project controls, improve estimate quality, and support consistent execution across assets, facilities, and business initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Estimating Strategy & Estimate Development
  • Develop and prepare moderately complex project estimates, cost models, and resource forecasts for business process, service quality, operational improvement, and related project initiatives.
  • Define estimate bases, assumptions, exclusions, and estimating methodologies appropriate to scope, maturity, and project complexity.
  • Translate technical, operational, and business requirements into structured estimates that support planning, prioritization, and execution decision-making.
  • Evaluate estimate quality and recommend adjustments based on scope changes, market inputs, historical performance, and execution risks.
  • Support development of estimate packages and documentation that can be consistently applied across projects and initiatives.
  • Project Controls, Cost Analysis & Forecasting
  • Analyze labor, materials, equipment, contractor, and indirect cost inputs to develop accurate and supportable cost projections.
  • Monitor estimate-to-actual performance and identify trends, variances, and opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Maintain cost benchmarks, historical databases, unit rates, and estimating reference information to strengthen future estimating efforts.
  • Support scenario analysis, what-if modeling, and alternative evaluations to inform project and business decisions.
  • Collaborate with project controls and finance partners to align estimates with budgets, forecasts, and reporting requirements.
  • Business Process & Service Quality Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes, templates, workflows, and data quality to increase consistency, efficiency, and usability.
  • Standardize estimating practices and documentation to support repeatable execution and stronger quality control across the organization.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance planning quality, resource visibility, and service reliability.
  • Support implementation of process changes, system enhancements, or digital tools that improve estimating capability and reporting quality.
  • Promote disciplined estimating practices that align with operational needs and quality expectations in an oil and gas environment.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather scope information and validate estimate inputs.
  • Facilitate alignment on assumptions, risks, schedule drivers, and resource needs to ensure estimates reflect business and operational realities.
  • Communicate estimate development approach, key drivers, risks, and recommended actions to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for estimating methodologies, cost modeling, and estimate quality practices.
  • Support cross-functional planning and prioritization by providing clear, timely, and decision-ready estimating information.
  • Risk, Governance & Documentation
  • Identify estimate risks, uncertainties, and key cost drivers and incorporate them into estimating assumptions and documentation.
  • Maintain clear records of estimate methodologies, revisions, approvals, and supporting data to improve auditability and traceability.
  • Ensure estimating outputs align with internal controls, project governance expectations, and applicable company standards.
  • Support reviews of estimate quality, process compliance, and documentation completeness.
  • Contribute to building scalable estimating practices that reduce rework and support consistent decision-making.
  • Analytics, Reporting & Decision Support
  • Prepare estimate summaries, dashboards, and reporting materials that support business planning and project reviews.
  • Analyze estimating data to identify patterns, lessons learned, and opportunities to improve quality and predictability.
  • Provide insights that help stakeholders evaluate project alternatives, prioritize investments, and manage execution risk.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
