JOB SUMMARY

This position supports the Risk and Insurance team in administering insurance and risk-management activities. Key responsibilities include assisting with risk evaluation and transfer, managing routine claims and stakeholder communications, maintaining renewal, budgeting, forecasting, and certificate-tracking data, analyzing insurance requirements, and reviewing contract language and coverage.

Job Profile Summary

This position is under supervision to perform functions that support the Corporate Risk Manager, Risk Analyst II and Risk Analyst III.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Determines insurable values Evaluate insurance agents and brokers Responsible for supporting the Manager and Risk Analyst II and III in evaluating proper risk acceptance, avoidance, or transfer
  • Administers routine claims including third-party, workers’ compensation, non-litigated, or environmental claims in addition to subrogation claims on behalf of ONEOK against third-parties
  • Coordinates and directs communication between the third-party administrator, outside counsel, in-house counsel, and management
  • Maintain data/statistics/worksheets to support renewal submissions
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining cost center worksheets for budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintain insurance certificate tracking systems and work with vendors to ensure the process is providing the information and data required
  • Assumes responsibility for calculating, compiling, preparing, information and reports including but not limited to risk and insurance statistics, budgets and trends analysis/survey data
  • Analyze requested exceptions to establish limits/coverage parameters for Certificates of Insurance issued to customer base or received from contractors or outside vendors
  • Review third party contract insurance language requirements confirming coverage in place, limits required, specialized wording endorsements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, other related field with previous experience performing risk management functions, or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience (minimum 2 - 3 years insurance industry related):

Work Experience

  • Experience in a risk and insurance department or an insurance brokerage firm.
  • Experience in reviewing insurance policies and contracts.
  • Experience in the use of office equipment and software programs including but not limited to Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Limited experience reading and interpreting third party service contracts, governmental regulations and statutes, insurance applications, manuals and professional and trade journals

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to: apply math and statistical computations
  • Ability to: communicate with, staff and employees of the department as well as employees and staff of other internal departments
  • Ability to: develop information and preparing formal presentations
  • Ability to: formulate responses to audits involving various property and casualty insurance policies

Licenses and Certifications

  • Working to complete Charter Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) preferred or
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred or
  • Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) preferred
