ABOUT onX
We’re a team of builders, adventurers, and risk takers using technology to help people confidently explore the outdoors. Driven by our mission to awaken the adventurer inside everyone, we build products that optimize every outdoor experience and inspire confidence to get out and go further.
We’re a high-growth tech company. The pace is fast, the work takes grit, and ambiguity is part of the job. As the world changes around us, we adapt - continuously evolving how we build, prioritize, and deliver.
Our business moves quickly, and there’s real opportunity to shape what we build next. Each of our verticals - Hunt, Offroad, Backcountry, and Fish - is at a different stage of maturity, which means the challenges you encounter and the impact you have will vary depending on where you sit and what the business needs most.
We operate with an experimentation mindset, continually iterating and improving how we solve problems. We expect our people to use the latest tooling, including AI, thoughtfully and responsibly, pairing human judgment with technology to increase quality, speed, and impact.
Our impact comes to life through the products we build, in the stories of our customers, and in our growing commitment to land stewardship and recreational access.
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
onX is seeking a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager, Partnerships to own the lifecycle strategy and experience for users who come to onX through our partners. Partnerships are a growing channel for onX, with automotive partners Ford and Toyota as the primary focus today and opportunities to expand into additional partner categories over time.
This is a build opportunity within our Growth Lifecycle Marketing team. Partner-sourced users arrive with different context, intent, trial experiences, and expectations than users who discover onX on their own. You’ll use customer behavior and performance data to develop the lifecycle strategy and roadmap for these audiences, then bring that strategy to life across activation, onboarding, engagement, and conversion.
This role works across all four onX verticals and a broad set of cross-functional partners, including Partnerships, vertical marketing teams, Growth Product, creative, and analytics. You’ll start by building on our automotive foundation, using customer insights and experimentation to strengthen the partner lifecycle experience, then turn what works into scalable approaches for new partners and categories as our partnership ecosystem grows.
This role reports to the Director of Growth Lifecycle Marketing.
ABOUT THE GROWTH LIFECYCLE MARKETING TEAM
Our Growth Lifecycle Marketing team operates with a high degree of end-to-end ownership. We use customer behavior and data to identify opportunities, develop strategies, build and launch lifecycle experiences, measure performance, and turn what we learn into the next experiment. Rather than routinely handing work from one function to another, our lifecycle marketers have the tools and autonomy to move work forward themselves while partnering with teams across onX where their expertise is needed.
We move quickly, experiment often, and stay close to both the customer experience and the results of our work. That means being strategic and hands-on aren't separate parts of the job—they go together.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Essential Job Duties & Functions
Own the partner lifecycle strategy
- Develop and own the lifecycle strategy and roadmap for partner-sourced users across activation, onboarding, engagement, and conversion, creating structure and direction as onX expands this growing channel.
- Partner with Partnerships and vertical business teams to translate partner agreements, customer behavior, and business goals into lifecycle programs that deliver measurable value for onX and our partners.
- Build segmentation and personalization strategies that reflect how partner-sourced users differ by partner, entitlement, behavior, and intent.
Build, experiment, and optimize
- Design, build, QA, and deploy lifecycle journeys across email, push, and in-app experiences in Braze, making thoughtful channel and experience decisions based on customer behavior, business goals, and potential impact to the product experience.
- Use customer behavior and performance data to identify and prioritize opportunities, develop hypotheses, design rigorous experiments, and measure impact. Self-serve analysis using tools such as Amplitude, Braze, and Eppo, and translate what you learn into decisions about what to test, optimize, or pursue next.
- Use AI thoughtfully and effectively throughout the lifecycle workflow—from insight and ideation through content development, execution, and analysis—to increase the speed and quality of your work while applying sound judgment to outputs.
Lead across a complex stakeholder environment
- Drive lifecycle initiatives forward across Partnerships, vertical marketing teams, Growth Product, creative, analytics, legal, and other stakeholders, keeping priorities, dependencies, approvals, and launches moving.
- Navigate differing perspectives and priorities across teams, building alignment while maintaining momentum and a high bar for the customer experience and business outcomes.
- Translate lifecycle strategy, experimentation, and performance into clear, actionable communication for internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, external partners.
Turn learning into scalable approaches
- Turn successful experiments and programs into repeatable playbooks that help onX launch new partners and categories faster and enable proven approaches to be shared across verticals.
- Identify opportunities to improve lifecycle workflows, tools, and approaches as the partner ecosystem grows.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, or growth marketing, ideally within consumer subscription or mobile app businesses.
- Deep lifecycle marketing experience across activation, onboarding, engagement, conversion, and retention, with demonstrated end-to-end ownership—from using customer insights to shape strategy and priorities through building, launching, measuring, and optimizing programs.
- Experience managing lifecycle marketing programs across multiple products or business lines, adapting strategies to different customer needs and business priorities.
- Strong analytical fluency, with the ability to independently explore customer behavior and performance data using Amplitude or similar product analytics tools and turn insights into actionable recommendations.
- A strong experimentation and measurement mindset, with experience developing hypotheses, designing A/B and holdout tests, interpreting results, and using learnings to determine what comes next.
- Proficiency with Braze or a comparable lifecycle marketing platform, including building automated, behavior-based journeys, segmentation, personalization, and triggering logic.
- Strong AI fluency, with the ability to use AI effectively across your workflow, build repeatable AI-enabled ways of working, and apply sound judgment to improve the speed, quality, and scale of your work.
- Demonstrated success in complex, cross-functional environments, building alignment across teams with different goals and perspectives while keeping work moving.
- Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent workstreams with a high degree of ownership.
- A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values.
- Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.
- Ability to travel up to quarterly for multiple days to a corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp.

Though not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following:
- Experience marketing through partner, co-marketing, or channel relationships, including working directly with external partners.
- Experience using in-app messaging to influence customer behavior while balancing marketing goals with the broader product experience.
- Experience launching or scaling lifecycle programs for a new partner, channel, audience, or business area.
- Experience with subscription, freemium, membership, or entitlement-based business models.
- Experience prototyping or implementing advanced AI use cases for lifecycle marketing, such as agentic workflows, custom automations, scaled personalization, or AI-assisted experimentation and analysis.
- Experience with SQL or BigQuery for deeper self-service analysis.
- Experience with Liquid templating or similar tools for dynamic personalization.
- A personal passion for hunting, off-roading, backcountry recreation, or fishing, and familiarity with how our customers experience the outdoors.
