We are currently looking for a Cloud Networking & Virtualization Engineer (OVS/DPDK) to join our Engineering team in Europe and strengthen the networking and virtualization behind our cloud and telco deployments.

Job Description

Cloud Networking & Virtualization Engineers integrate, test and support the virtual networking and virtualization layers of cloud and telco infrastructure. This role focuses on Open vSwitch with DPDK, KVM on Red Hat and Ansible automation. You will strengthen our engineering team's networking capabilities, maintain deployment tooling and troubleshoot complex performance and integration issues. You will work with engineers and customers to deliver reliable deployments, validate network performance and document practical solutions. The role requires hands-on experience and the ability to take ownership of technical work independently.

Application note: We know job applications take time, and we really appreciate candidates who read the role description carefully. As a small check, when answering the application questions, please include the word “pineapple” in one of your answers.

Responsibilities

  • Integrating, deploying and maintaining Open vSwitch with DPDK and KVM-based virtual networking in Red Hat environments
  • Configuring and validating performance features such as SR-IOV, hugepages and NUMA pinning to support demanding network and virtualization workloads
  • Maintaining and extending one-deploy and its Ansible automation for repeatable infrastructure deployment and configuration
  • Testing OVS/DPDK configurations, investigating networking and virtualization performance, and documenting results and improvements
  • Troubleshooting incidents across Linux, virtual networking and KVM, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures
  • Supporting Red Hat infrastructure configuration and lifecycle management, including work with Red Hat Satellite
  • Working with customers and project teams on deployment, integration and support of cloud and telco environments, with occasional travel to project meetings and events
  • Collaborating with development and support teams to resolve integration issues and improve the reliability and maintainability of the infrastructure stack
  • Writing and maintaining technical documentation, deployment procedures, troubleshooting runbooks and project reports

Experience required

Academic Background and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Experience

  • Demonstrated professional experience deploying, testing, troubleshooting or supporting virtual networking and Linux-based virtualization environments, with responsibility for resolving complex infrastructure issues.
  • Experience delivering cloud or virtualization integration projects and working independently with engineering and customer teams. Experience in telecom, NFV/NFVI or large private-cloud environments is an advantag

Professional Experience

  • Required hands-on professional experience with Open vSwitch (OVS) using DPDK, including practical configuration, testing or troubleshooting of virtual networking and its performance.
  • Required hands-on experience with Ansible, including writing or maintaining playbooks and roles for infrastructure deployment, configuration and ongoing maintenance.
  • Required hands-on experience deploying, operating or troubleshooting KVM virtualization on Red Hat systems, with an understanding of how virtual machines interact with host networking and resources.
  • Experience with enhanced platform awareness and performance features such as SR-IOV, hugepages and NUMA pinning is valuable. Familiarity with Red Hat Satellite, OpenNebula or one-deploy is an advantage; these tools can be learned after joining.

Language Skills

  • English fluency at a professional or native-equivalent level, with excellent clarity and expression in both writing and speech.
  • Professional working proficiency in Spanish, sufficient to participate in customer meetings, discuss technical issues and provide support.

Soft Skills & Collaboration

  • Strong customer service mindset, with a focus on responsiveness and user satisfaction.
  • Clear communication and documentation with strong written and verbal English, async collaboration, and visibility of work.
  • Self-management and accountability with ability to work independently, manage time, and take ownership of tasks and deadlines

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
