The posting

Our client is a leading organisation in the built environment sector, seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the development, enhancement and maintenance of enterprise systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery, coordinating internal stakeholders and outsourced vendors, and ensuring projects are delivered within agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end IT project delivery, covering system development, enhancement and maintenance projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Oversee the development of a ServiceNow SaaS platform and the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing .NET and Java-based systems.
  • Gather, analyse and manage business and technical requirements, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Plan and monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, budgets and expenditure to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage outsourced vendors and service providers, tracking their performance, deliverables and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate with business users, technical teams and vendors throughout the project lifecycle, facilitating effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), quality assurance and system implementation activities to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and security considerations, implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Prepare project status reports and provide regular updates to management and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee post-implementation support and maintenance activities, including enhancement requests and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of managing system development and maintenance projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • PMP certification or equivalent practical experience in project management.
  • Hands-on experience managing system development, enhancement and maintenance projects.
  • Experience overseeing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), quality assurance and system implementation processes.
  • Proven experience managing outsourced vendors, including monitoring deliverables, project timelines, budgets and expenditure.
  • Good understanding of IT security, risk management and project governance.
  • Proficiency in requirements and project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
