  • Lead electrical load and capacity management, evaluate equipment condition and operating trends, and maintain power redundancy during maintenance, equipment failures, and infrastructure changes.
  • Coordinate with mechanical, controls, and operations teams to address system dependencies and maintain overall facility reliability.

Emergency Response and Operational Improvement

  • Apply emergency operating procedures, assess changing conditions, and coordinate escalation and communication with appropriate teams.
  • Lead post-incident technical reviews, root cause analyses, and corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurrence.

  • Evaluate maintenance and project risks, verify readiness before work begins, and oversee execution in accordance with approved procedures and safe working practices.
  • Prepare and review change requests, communicate operational risks and mitigation plans, and represent facilities engineering in change advisory board (CAB) reviews.
  • Maintain accurate operating documentation, electrical drawings, equipment information, and records of infrastructure changes.

Engineering Reviews and Project Leadership

  • Serve as the site’s electrical subject matter expert for complex operational issues, infrastructure upgrades, and engineering initiatives.
  • Review designs, equipment specifications, and proposed modifications for maintainability, capacity, reliability, and compatibility with site operations.
  • Develop scopes of work and technical requirements for requests for proposal (RFPs), evaluate vendor proposals, and provide technical recommendations.
  • Lead assigned infrastructure projects, coordinating scope, schedules, resources, risks, and deliverables with internal teams and external partners.
  • Coordinate project execution with design, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to protect operating systems and support successful delivery.

Commissioning, Testing, and Validation

  • Review commissioning plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria for new or modified critical infrastructure.
  • Participate in and oversee equipment testing, functional verification, and integrated systems testing to validate performance under normal, maintenance, and failure conditions.
  • Track deficiencies, coordinate corrective work, and verify resolution before operational acceptance.
  • Support operational handover by verifying that equipment records, drawings, procedures, training, spare parts, and maintenance requirements are complete.

Training and Knowledge Sharing

  • Develop and maintain technical training modules covering electrical systems, operating procedures, maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and emergency response.
  • Deliver training, mentor team members, and assess practical understanding and readiness to perform assigned work.
  • Lead drills and scenario-based exercises to strengthen emergency preparedness and consistent operating practices.
  • Share lessons learned and establish consistent technical practices across the on-site team.

Vendor and Contractor Oversight

  • Coordinate vendor and contractor scheduling, site access, work planning, and execution.
  • Review service reports and completed work for technical quality, documentation, and compliance with approved scope and procedures.
  • Support contract reviews, change orders, cost estimates, and procurement of critical spare parts and maintenance resources.
  • Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues affecting safety, work quality, schedules, or facility reliability.

Collaboration and Team Development

  • Communicate technical issues, operational risks, and project status clearly to site leadership, partner teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Prioritize competing maintenance, incident, and project demands based on safety, operational risk, and business needs.
