Job Description

We are looking for a Product Engineer who combines hands-on software development experience with strong product judgment to make OCI’s cloud native services easier for developers and operators to use.

In this role, you will understand customer problems, define and prioritize solutions, and write the production code that delivers them. You will own a defined feature area from discovery through implementation, release, and adoption.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to build developer tools and platform integrations. Success means customers can complete their work more easily, supported by software that is reliable, maintainable, and responsive to their needs.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Product Management:

  • Independently identifies customer needs and workflow gaps across CI/CD, infrastructure automation, Kubernetes, and application operations.
  • Defines requirements, acceptance criteria, and backlog priorities, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, and product direction.
  • Establishes success measures and uses customer feedback, adoption data, and telemetry to guide product improvements.

Product Delivery:

  • Owns a bounded platform component or feature, designing, implementing, testing, and releasing production software within established architecture.
  • Builds APIs, integrations, and automation that connect OCI services and simplify developer and operator workflows.
  • Improves automated testing, deployment processes, observability, and secure development practices.
  • Delivers documentation, examples, demonstrations, and adoption guidance; validates releases with customers and early adopters.
  • Participates in operational maintenance, incident response, and on-call support for owned components.

Core Responsibilities

  • Works with service PMs, outbound PMs, SAs, and other outbound functions to identify, analyze, and prioritize customer requirements and create necessary product documents
  • Combines customer evidence, technical investigation, and product data to resolve issues and make informed tradeoffs.
  • Independently manages scope, roadmap, priorities, milestones, and dependencies. Communicates delivery risks and recommends adjustments.
  • Builds alignment across product, engineering, design, support, and field teams to deliver shared customer outcomes.
  • Develops expertise in cloud platforms, DevOps, Kubernetes, and product management, sharing knowledge with team members.
  • Improves customer workflows, development automation, and operational practices based on observed results.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years developing, releasing, and supporting production software, with experience in distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong programming skills in Java or Go, with experience using Python for automation.
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and reliable service design.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into requirements, prioritize work, and evaluate delivered outcomes.
  • A degree in computer science or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

One or more of the following:

  • Experience working with containers, Kubernetes, container networking, or infrastructure serving multiple tenants, ideally in a PaaS context.
  • Experience defining and shipping cloud application management tools that unify resource inventory, deployment context, operational health, cost, and security into a single application view.
  • Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, developer tools, customer discovery, or product adoption measurement.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
