Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director and Research Integrity Officer (RIO), the Analyst will promote OSU’s commitment to research integrity by helping to grow the Program for Responsible Research Practices, which focuses on two key areas: 1) promoting the ethical conduct of research and 2) responding to allegations of research misconduct.

In collaboration with the Director, the Analyst will assist the RIO with confidential proceedings related to research misconduct, in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. This will involve supporting all stages of the proceedings, including in-take, inquiry, and investigation steps; record-keeping; committee management and scheduling; and related duties.

Key Responsibilities:

The Analyst will support the RIO in the coordination and management of highly sensitive and confidential research misconduct proceedings.

  • Investigation support: Assists the RIO in carrying out inquiries and investigations in alignment with OSU policy and federal regulations.
  • Operations: Efficiently schedule meetings, handle transcription services, and collect, organize, and catalogue large amounts of data and information
  • Writing: Skillfully draft administrative documents and proofread committee-authored reports; collaborate on meeting materials to guide committee deliberations
  • Communication: Effectively communicate in writing and verbally with all parties to a case; interpret their responses and advise the RIO on related actions

The Analyst will assist the RIO with maintaining and improving policies and procedures.

  • Policy: Review and make necessary revisions to the OSU policy on research misconduct
  • Procedures: Analyze revisions to the research misconduct policy for implications for existing standard operating procedures (SOPs); propose, draft, and track changes to SOPs

The Analyst will support ORI in administering and tracking research integrity training requirements, such as those for RCR, research security, COI and others by:

  • Improving and maintaining a system for tracking the completion of ORI training requirements
  • Sending completion reports to attendees

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to participate in continuing education relevant to the assigned responsibilities
  • Proficient with commonly used software, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook

  • Professional experience working in research integrity, workplace conduct, or similar areas
  • Project management skills including the ability to manage complex timelines from case initiation through closure with strong attention to detail
  • Able to understand, communicate, and operationalize regulatory language and procedural guidance
  • Experience working independently at a high level; capable of thinking critically, establishing goals, setting priorities, and implementing tasks with limited direction
  • Able to effectively collaborate across academic and administrative groups and building consultative partnerships
  • Capable of digesting, summarizing, analyzing complex and technical information in a high-stakes context
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
