Criminal History Check Statement (CHC):
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
Motor Vehicle History Check Statement (MVHC):
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard 125-155-0200) as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq.
OSU will conduct a review of the National Sex Offender Public website prior to hire.

This recruitment will be used to fill fifty (50) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) SafeRide Driver for the at Oregon State University (OSU).

Driving Requirements:
SafeRide utilizes university vehicles to conduct operations. All drivers for SafeRide will obtain and maintain an OSU Motor Pool Vehicle Authorization and Van Certification during onboarding and training. All SafeRide employees must also pass a DMV records check. There is a small fee for this check, depending on the state you reside in.
Behavioral Requirements:
Due to the nature of SafeRide program, all SafeRide employees must role model good decision-making skills and care for the safety of others, therefore, SafeRide employees are required to pass a criminal history check prior to being cleared to work through the onboarding process. Additionally, students must remain in good conduct standing with OSU throughout the duration of their employment. Supervisors may review conduct each term to ensure compliance with this expectation.
Opportunities for Professional Development:
• Participate as a member of the marketing team assisting in the creation of: • SafeRide social media posts/videos • SafeRide training materials/videos • SafeRide fliers, posters, or tabling items • Participate as a member of the outreach team assisting in the promotion of SafeRide by: • Tabling at campus events as a representative of SafeRide • Talking to Greek houses, clubs, and organizations at formal meetings • Coordinating with campus partners, clubs, and local organizations/businesses to advertise SafeRide • Participate as a member of the operations team assisting in the maintenance and cleanliness of: • SafeRide vehicles • The SafeRide office/storage cage • Other opportunities can be discussed and agreed upon with the SafeRide Coordinator
Training:
• Online Canvas modules and in person training will be completed before any shifts are assigned • Students will be added to the Canvas page when they are cleared to work • In person fall training (tentatively September 16-18, 2026) • Weekend in person training will be provided for those hired after Fall training dates
Compensation:
• Sun-Thur Hourly Rate: $17.46 • Fri & Sat Hourly Rate: $20.95 • Domestic student employees may work up to 24 hours per week • International student employees may work up to 20 hours per week
