ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance for client accounts within a fast-paced BPO environment. This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting processes, including general ledger management, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

As a critical member of the finance team, the Senior Accountant may also provide guidance to staff accountants, support process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and client-focused financial services. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Reporting: Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintaining the general ledger, posting journal entries, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Reconciliations: Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual account and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Managing and coordinating the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Preparing Reports: Generating various financial reports and summaries, which are often presented to management to support decision-making.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Assisting with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries; developing and documenting internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing ways to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy through process enhancements and the use of accounting software and systems.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 8–10 years of experience with U.S. GAAP.
  • Excellent communication and strong English skills.
  • Strong operational execution and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinkin skills are critical.
  • Small/Medium Business work experience preferred (reports to Controller).
  • Experience with multi-location or multi-site entities a plus
  • Attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy
