Why this is a great opportunity

  • Join a boutique firm with 40+ years of institutional credibility and a client roster that includes major public entities, municipalities, and established corporations
  • Take ownership of a sophisticated, defense-side employment caseload — real responsibility from day one
  • Work directly with high-profile clients including governmental agencies and corporate accounts across California and nationally
  • Dedicated paralegal and legal assistant support — so you can focus on high-value legal work
  • A clear trajectory toward expanded client responsibility and a leadership role within the practice
  • Competitive compensation with medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
  • Discretionary bonus potential for strong performers

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Downtown) — On-site, with hybrid flexibility available for the right candidate

Note: Active California State Bar membership in good standing is required. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of substantive litigation experience in labor and employment law to be considered for this role.

About us

Confidential Employer. We are a boutique, multi-specialty litigation firm based in downtown Los Angeles with additional presence in Orange County. Over our 40+ year history, we have built lasting relationships with public entities, municipalities, businesses, and governmental clients throughout California and across the United States. Our labor and employment practice is defense-side, and we are known for quality legal work and the kind of personalized service that keeps institutional clients coming back. We are a growing firm — and we take a long view on the attorneys we bring in.

Job description

  • Manage a sophisticated employment litigation caseload from inception through resolution — DFEH/CRD and EEOC charges, PERB proceedings, wage and hour disputes, and employment-related civil matters
  • Advise public entity and corporate clients on HR compliance, employment agreements, workplace policies, and employee relations strategy
  • Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings
  • Negotiate settlements and counsel clients on risk assessment and litigation strategy
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on labor relations, employee benefits, and agency investigation response
  • Maintain and develop direct client relationships — you will be a face of the firm

Qualifications

  • Active California State Bar membership in good standing — required
  • 5+ years of substantive litigation experience in labor and employment law
  • Defense-side experience strongly preferred; public entity or municipal experience a plus
  • Solid command of California wage and hour law, FEHA, PERB, and related regulatory frameworks
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to counsel non-lawyer clients with clarity and confidence
  • Self-directed, high-integrity approach to managing an active caseload
  • In-house and solo practice backgrounds welcome if litigation experience requirements are met

Why you will love working here

  • Real autonomy — you manage your caseload, not a supervisor looking over your shoulder
  • A collegial, experienced team that values quality work and professional relationships
  • Institutional clients with long-standing firm relationships — meaningful, complex work that actually matters
  • Genuine growth path: this firm takes a long view on the attorneys it invests in
  • Downtown LA location with hybrid flexibility considered for the right fit

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
