About this Opportunity

As a Senior Investment Due Diligence Analyst, you will play a key role in evaluating and overseeing investment solutions across Orion Wealth Management platforms. You will conduct manager research across traditional and private asset classes and present your analyses and recommendations to the Investment Due Diligence Committee. You will also provide analytical and portfolio management support to discretionary investment teams and other business lines, and communicate research insights to internal stakeholders, advisors, and clients. This role offers the opportunity to directly influence the strategies available on Orion’s platforms, strengthen due diligence processes, and grow your career within a collaborative investment team covering public and private markets. As we continue to evolve and live our Orion values, we are looking for someone to grow with us.

It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work as a Hybrid employee, with three (3) or more days each week required on-site at one of the listed office locations.

Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to an office. Internal candidates currently aligned to an Orion office location may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Serve as a generalist analyst covering a range of investment strategies across product vehicles and asset classes, including private funds and limited partnerships
  • Conduct thorough manager due diligence, including onsite visits, performance attribution, and authoring Guiding Star research reports
  • Evaluate private market managers and funds, including strategy, team, fund terms and documentation, valuation practices, liquidity, and fees
  • Lead new manager searches and termination recommendations using a quantitative and qualitative decision-making framework
  • Present and debate due diligence analyses and recommendations as a member of the Investment Due Diligence Committee
  • Support platform needs by working with senior investment management to identify product gaps and assess new products and initiatives
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Orion’s proprietary due diligence framework, including processes, policies, and governance standards
  • Provide portfolio management and analytical support for discretionary portfolios and other lines of business, including retirement services and 529 plans
  • Serve as a resource to internal and external stakeholders by communicating manager analysis and due diligence recommendations to the sales team, financial advisors, and clients
  • Contribute to marketing and educational materials that showcase Orion’s due diligence capabilities
  • Mentor and guide Investment Analysts to support their development
  • Take an active role in cross-functional initiatives and research projects across the investment team and broader wealth management organization
  • Maintain current knowledge of economic and financial market conditions

We’re looking for talent who:

  • Has experience conducting due diligence on private market managers and funds, such as private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, or other alternatives
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of capital markets, asset allocation, manager selection, and the asset management industry
  • Has experience with research platforms such as Morningstar Direct, FactSet, and eVestment; experience with private market data providers such as Preqin or PitchBook is a plus
  • Is an effective communicator with strong analytical and writing skills and experience presenting to committees, senior leadership, and external investment managers
  • Builds strong stakeholder relationships and collaborates effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Works effectively both independently and within a team, manages multiple priorities with careful attention to detail, and meets deadlines with a sense of urgency
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Is familiar with AI and how it can be integrated to enhance the manager research and due diligence process

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
