We are now seeking a new Country Director for Norway to lead our Norwegian business and play a pivotal role in the continued growth and transformation of Otis across the Nordic region.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Nordics, this role holds full responsibility for the Norwegian business, including commercial performance, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, people leadership, and overall business management. As a key member of the Nordic leadership team, you will foster collaboration across countries, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure sustainable and profitable growth.

The Role

As Country Director, you will be accountable for the overall performance of Otis Norway, leading, directly or indirectly, a diverse team across New Equipment, Service, Modernization, Field Operations, Finance, and Support Functions.

You will set the strategic direction for the country, deliver operational excellence, and build a high-performing culture focused on safety, customer success, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Financial Leadership

  • Own and manage the full country P&L, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Lead all business areas including Service, New Equipment, Modernization, Sales, and Field Operations.
  • Deliver on revenue, market share, productivity, quality, and profitability targets.
  • Develop and execute country business strategies aligned with Nordic and regional objectives.

Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the country leadership team.
  • Build an engaged, collaborative, and high-performing organization.
  • Strengthen the local talent pipeline and succession planning.
  • Create an environment where employees are empowered, accountable, and motivated to excel.
  • Build and maintain constructive relationships with employee representatives and labour unions.
  • Lead and participate in collective bargaining and union negotiations, ensuring productive collaboration and alignment with business objectives.

Commercial & Customer Excellence

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and competitive trends.
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, government representatives, and business partners.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and long-term customer retention.
  • Represent Otis externally and further enhance the company's position in the Norwegian market.

Transformation & Strategic Execution

  • Lead business transformation initiatives that improve performance, efficiency, and customer outcomes.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Norway, the Nordic region, and the wider UKN organization.
  • Ensure alignment across operational, financial, HR, and digitalization initiatives.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.

Safety, Ethics & Compliance

  • Lead by example in fostering a culture where safety is the highest priority.
  • Ensure full compliance with Otis policies, procedures, and the Otis Code of Ethics.
  • Drive a strong EH&S culture and ensure all employees operate within the highest safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA is an advantage.
  • Significant senior leadership experience with full P&L responsibility.
  • Proven general management experience within construction, building services, industrial, engineering, or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the Nordic elevator industry and market dynamics will be regarded as a great advantage.
  • Strong understanding of Norwegian labour law, employment practices, and social partnership models is considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies.
  • Experience leading organizations through change and transformation.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across multiple levels and functions.
  • Experience working within an international and matrix organization.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in both Norwegian and English.
