Job Overview:

We are looking for an energetic and motivated Sales Management Trainee to join our fast-growing FMCG business. This role is designed for individuals who are keen to build a career in sales, retail operations, and business development.

As a Management Trainee, you will gain hands-on exposure across sales, retail execution, merchandising, account management, and trade marketing. You will work closely with our Sales, Key Account, Trade Marketing, and Merchandising teams to understand how FMCG businesses operate and develop practical commercial skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or early-career professionals who are ambitious, proactive, and eager to take on increasing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Retail Operations

• Support the Sales team in day-to-day sales and retail operations.

• Visit assigned retail outlets to understand sales performance, product availability, and merchandising standards.

• Monitor stock levels, product displays, pricing, and promotional execution.

• Support sales initiatives, product launches, and other commercial activities.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with store personnel and retail partners.

• Identify operational issues at retail outlets and work with the relevant teams to resolve them.

Sales Performance & Reporting

• Prepare regular sales performance reports and updates.

• Monitor sales targets, sell-out performance, stock levels, and promotional results.

• Gather market intelligence and competitor information from retail outlets.

• Highlight sales opportunities, operational issues, and areas for improvement.

• Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and other sales-related materials.

Trade Marketing & Promotions

• Support trade promotions, product launches, and in-store marketing campaigns.

• Assist with POSM placement, display setup, and maintenance.

• Work closely with the Trade Marketing and Merchandising teams to ensure strong retail execution.

• Conduct store checks and ensure promotional activities are implemented according to guidelines.

Customer & Account Support

• Support the management of assigned customers and retail accounts.

• Assist with sales orders, deliveries, stock allocation, and customer requests.

• Follow up with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth order fulfilment.

• Gain exposure to key account management and customer relationship management.

Management Trainee Development

• Participate in cross-functional projects and business initiatives.

• Gain practical knowledge across FMCG sales, retail, trade marketing, and supply chain operations.

• Work closely with experienced team members and managers to develop commercial and leadership skills.

• Take on increasing responsibilities based on performance, capabilities, and business needs.

• Support other projects and ad hoc assignments as required.

Working Schedule:

• 5-day work week

• Weekend work is compulsory as part of our retail operations.

• Working days and rest days will be scheduled according to business and retail operational requirements.

• The role requires regular visits to retail outlets and is suitable for candidates who are comfortable with field-based work.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Management, or a related discipline.

• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• Candidates with 1–2 years of experience in sales, retail, FMCG, customer service, or related fields are also encouraged to apply.

• Strong interest in sales, FMCG, retail, and business development.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in engaging customers and retail partners.

• Energetic, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong willingness to learn.

• Well-organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Able to work independently as well as effectively within a team.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

• Must be comfortable working weekends.
