The posting
The Director of Product owns the vision for OuterBox's product technology layer: the internal applications, automation, and AI that help our staff deliver marketing services, and the direct-to-market products such as LOOP Analytics and future offerings. This role defines how our products work together as one consolidated, scalable system, makes sure each one delivers clear value to the people it was built for, and turns the capability of our development team into products that set OuterBox apart. The Director leads the Product Managers, sets product priorities and standards in partnership with the Director of Technology, holds the team to effective execution, and reports on how well our products perform for the service organization and our clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
- Set the Product Vision: Define and own the vision for OuterBox's product technology layer, internal and external. Describe how our systems, applications, and AI work in concert, and keep that vision current as our services, our clients, and the technology change.
- Own the Product Portfolio & Architecture: Keep the portfolio consolidated and coherent. Decide what we build, combine, retire, or buy so every product has a clear purpose, a defined user, and a place in the larger system. Partner with the Director of Technology so product architecture and technical architecture scale together.
- Build Products for Our Delivery Teams: Direct the applications that help our staff deliver marketing services faster, more consistently, and more intelligently. Make sure each tool is designed around the people who use it and proves its value in their daily work.
- Lead Direct-to-Market Products: Own product strategy for client-facing offerings such as LOOP Analytics and the products that follow. Identify market opportunities that grow out of our internal capability, shape them into offerings, and hold products that carry OuterBox's external reputation to the highest standard.
- Lead the Product Management Team: Lead, coach, and develop the Product Managers. Set the operating cadence and hold a consistent standard of product thinking, user empathy, and design quality.
- Turn Development Talent into Great Products: Give the development team clear direction, well-defined problems, and build-ready requirements. Own the PRD and acceptance-criteria standards, guide development and testing timelines, and keep the roadmap focused on the work with the most impact.
- Drive Effective Execution: Direct the intake, feedback, prioritization, pilot, and rollout programs the Product Managers run. Set the criteria that move a product from pilot to production, and make sure what ships is adopted.
- Measure & Report Product Effectiveness: Define the KPIs for each product and report on how well our products perform for the service organization, our clients, and the business. Translate adoption, usage, delivery improvement, and displaced-software-spend data into clear business impact.
- Evaluate Emerging Technology: Track developments in AI, automation, and product practice. Run structured trials and recommend adoption or rejection with a clear rationale.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- 6+ years in product management or product leadership, with 2+ years leading product managers or product teams.
- A track record of setting product vision and strategy across a portfolio of related products, consolidating overlapping tools into a coherent, scalable platform, and taking new products to market.
- Experience shipping both internal tools and external, client-facing software products, including AI, automation, and data-driven applications built in partnership with a development team.
- Data orientation: able to define product KPIs, direct dashboards, and translate usage and adoption data into business impact.
- Working knowledge of how digital marketing agencies deliver services
- Fluency in product process, including PRDs and acceptance criteria, prioritization, and pilot and rollout programs, with credible participation in architecture and build decisions alongside technology leadership.
- Hands-on experience with Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, or equivalent).
- Strong product design and user-experience judgment, grounded in user research, feedback programs, and adoption measurement (interviews, NPS, surveys).
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, AI-accelerated environment, with working familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) and cloud-native platforms (Google Cloud Platform).
