About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician I performs day-to-day activities involving the preventive and corrective maintenance of the Oxford Industries Distribution Center in Lyons, GA. This role supports the reliable operation of facility systems, general equipment, and infrastructure within a 562,000 sq. ft. highly automated distribution environment. The Maintenance Technician I works under general supervision and focuses on facility upkeep, equipment reliability, and safe work practices, while developing familiarity with automated systems used at the DC.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, dock doors, dock levelers, and air compressors.
  • Conduct routine inspections of building systems including fire suppression/sprinkler systems, water systems, and safety equipment; document findings accurately.
  • Maintain general facility appearance and organization, including maintenance shop inventory and parts stocking.
  • Perform basic repairs and support construction projects such as renovations, shelving installation, and shipping crate assembly.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on conveyors, forklifts, packing equipment, and general warehouse machinery.
  • Support the operation of automated equipment (Exotec Skypod systems, Goods-to-Person stations, Auto-lidders, iPack stations, Auto-baggers) under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Perform basic PLC monitoring and alert senior technicians or leadership to anomalies or error conditions requiring advanced intervention.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance activities, and repair work in the maintenance management system.
  • Comply with all safety standards, OSHA regulations, and Oxford Industries policies; participate in safety assessments and risk reviews.
  • Support system upgrades and new equipment commissioning under the direction of Level II technicians or the Maintenance Manager.
  • Respond to facility and equipment issues during assigned shift; participate in on-call rotation as required by business needs.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Certifications, Experience and Skills, and Competencies

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational or technical training in construction, skilled trades, electrical, mechanical, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with mechanical and electrical systems in a fast-paced production, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Experience with HVAC, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors, or high-speed sortation equipment preferred.
  • Experience with electrical controllers and welding preferred.
  • Exposure to automated systems or warehouse technology a plus; willingness to learn automation platforms required.
  • Ability to perform diverse skilled maintenance and repair work across facility systems and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulation codes, equipment manuals, and safety standards.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to maintain parts inventory and documentation accurately.
  • Effective communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with operations, supervisors, and technical staff.
  • Basic computer skills; ability to use maintenance management systems and DC reporting tools.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

Possible Second Shift Hours: 4:00pm - 2:30am

Lifting and/or moving required frequently up to 50 lbs.

Bending/stooping/kneeling required frequently.

Routine standing approximately 8 hours per day.

Maneuvering equipment or machinery such as Forklifts, Conveyers, and related equipment required.
