WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support complex automotive manufacturing projects from early preparation through launch. In this role, you will combine Body Shop Methods expertise with dimensional analysis and practical production support. Working closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams, you will help develop stable processes, commission fixtures, evaluate measurement results, and improve the dimensional quality of vehicle structures. Your responsibilities depending on your role and expertise:
- Plan and coordinate Body Shop Methods activities throughout pre-series and production-launch phases.
- Perform dimensional quality and gap-and-flush studies to evaluate the geometry, fit, and alignment of components and assemblies.
- Support the commissioning, validation, and optimization of body shop fixtures and production equipment.
- Review technical drawings, CAD models, specifications, and measurement data to identify dimensional deviations and potential risks.
- Evaluate measurement reports and translate the results into practical recommendations for manufacturing and quality teams.
- Investigate dimensional concerns, support root-cause analyses, and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented measures and confirm improvements through follow-up measurements.
- Assist with fixture adjustments, component checks, and technical troubleshooting directly in the production environment.
- Track open technical topics, define responsibilities, and follow actions through to completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from manufacturing, quality, product engineering, process planning, and supplier management.
- Participate in technical reviews and project meetings, presenting findings in a clear and structured way.
- Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and management-ready summaries.
- Monitor relevant dimensional quality indicators and provide transparent updates on progress, risks, and outstanding actions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of body shop processes, measurement strategies, and quality methods.
- Support the achievement of dimensional targets during prototype, pre-series, and launch activities.
