Are you ready to turn your coding passion into real-world impact? Amentum is looking for a Journeyman Software Developer to join our growing team in Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH.

Remote/hybrid work may be allowed with the possibility that it may change to 100% working on-site based on the customer’s needs. You must currently live within 1 hour of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base or being willing to relocate to the area.

You do not need to know everything yet. We want someone who is curious, eager to learn, and excited to build things that help real people. You will get hands-on experience in a supportive environment. We will teach you how to write clean code, spot bugs, and solve complex problems. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the design, development, and engineering of software solutions using SQL stored queries, procedures, functions, views, and triggers, HTML, Java script, CSS and Java for web development.
  • Support development and communicate weekly status reports
  • Assist in providing demonstrations of code and contributing to other team efforts whenever required.
  • Assist with the development of production design of requirements and Software Design Documents (SDDs).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related technical discipline, and at least 2 years of software development experienceOr a High school diploma/GED, and at least 3 years of software development experience
  • At least 1 year of experience with Java development and unit/integration testing of code
  • Experience with build tools, such as Ant and Maven
  • Experience with CM tools, such as Git and BitBucket
  • Must live within one (1) hour of Wright Patterson Air Force Base or be willing to relocate to the area prior to your start date
  • Must be able and willing to physically exert up to 10 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position is otherwise sedentary, involving sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Good oral and written communications skills with experience in delivering/presenting to the customer
  • Experience with API calls
  • Mobile development experience

Compensation Details:

$93,600 - $107,000

The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
