The posting

Purpose and Impact: Amentum/Secure Networking Solutions is seeking a Network Architect / Team Lead to design, build, secure, and modernize complex enterprise networks. This position leads a team of network engineers and administrators while providing hands-on technical direction for LAN, WAN, and cloud infrastructure. The architect will integrate firewalls, encryption, and Zero Trust principles into network designs and guide changes from Layer 2 CVPN transport to Layer 3 business-class internet transport.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop network architecture, implementation plans, and build documentation that meet organizational performance, availability, and security needs.
  • Design and build data communications networks spanning LAN, WAN, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Lead network engineers and administrators through design reviews, implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Design, deploy, and integrate Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), Cisco ASA, and other firewall technologies.
  • Incorporate encryption and Zero Trust principles into network architecture and connectivity solutions.
  • Plan and execute the transition from Layer 2 CVPN transport to Layer 3 business-class internet transport, including routing, security, resiliency, testing, and cutover planning.
  • Manage and improve complex networks, resolve escalated technical issues, and identify risks before they affect service.
  • Address cybersecurity requirements related to Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs), including assessment, remediation planning, implementation, and compliance documentation.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, technical standards, configuration guidance, and implementation procedures.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Office Setting, but may be required to install sensors and cabling, requiring use of ladders and lifting up to 20 pounds.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Demonstrated ability to design and build LAN, WAN, and cloud network infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, including Cisco Firepower FTD and Cisco ASA.
  • Experience designing secure connectivity using encryption and Zero Trust principles.
  • Experience leading technical teams and guiding network engineers and administrators.
  • Ability to plan and execute major network transport changes, including migration from Layer 2 CVPN to Layer 3 business-class internet connectivity.
  • Experience addressing network-related CVEs and cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, and communication skills.

Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI CI Poly

Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in relevant area, such as Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other computer or information technology-related field.

Minimum Years of Experience: At least 12 years of experience in network engineering, architecture, or administration, including experience with complex enterprise networks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

Compensation Details:

$250,000
