Responsibilities include leading comprehensive business analysis activities, conducting process improvement initiatives, designing solutions that meet business requirements, and mentoring team members. With diverse teams and continuous learning opportunities, the Senior Business Analyst can explore career paths and expand skills across clinical research operations and technology integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive analysis of business needs, processes, and workflows across clinical research functions
  • Conduct thorough requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders at all levels and translate complex business needs into clear, detailed, and actionable requirements documentation
  • Develop use cases, user stories, and functional specifications that accurately reflect business requirements and validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Analyze current state business processes to identify inefficiencies and gaps, document existing workflows using process mapping techniques, and design future state processes that optimize efficiency, quality, and compliance
  • Develop recommendations for process standardization and automation, perform cost-benefit analyses for proposed process changes, and measure and report on the effectiveness of implemented improvements
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design solutions that meet business requirements and develop functional specifications and design documents for system implementations
  • Support the development and execution of test plans and test cases, validate that implemented solutions meet business requirements and quality standards, and develop training materials and support documentation for end users
  • Lead business analysis activities for medium to large-scale projects, develop project scope and deliverables, create and manage business analysis work plans and timelines, and identify and manage risks related to requirements and solution implementation
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across clinical operations, facilitate communication between business units and technology teams, and present analysis findings and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels
  • Mentor junior business analysts and share best practices, stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting clinical research, and identify opportunities for innovation in clinical processes and systems

You'll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in business process analysis, requirements management, and process improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency with business analysis tools and software (JIRA, Confluence, Visio) and familiarity with process modeling notations (BPMN, UML, flowcharts)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with advanced facilitation and presentation capabilities, including the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong leadership capabilities including team mentoring, project coordination, decision-making, and the ability to influence without authority
  • Experience working in clinical research, pharmaceutical industry, or regulated environments with deep understanding of clinical trial processes and workflows
  • A patient-focused mindset, strong attention to detail, and commitment to regulatory compliance and quality standards

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of business analysis experience, with at least 3 years in clinical research or pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated experience leading requirements gathering and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and workflows
  • Experience with clinical systems implementation and configuration (EDC, CTMS, eTMF, etc.)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in clinical research (GCP, ICH, FDA, EMA)
  • Experience with Agile and traditional software development methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, life sciences, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional), IIBA certifications, or PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis)
  • Training in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Background in implementing or optimizing clinical data management processes
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and facilitating decision-making

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
