PAY RATE: $75.00 per hour

The Park City Police Department is seeking experienced law enforcement professionals to join our team in a part-time to support special events. A current memorandum of understanding with Park City is mandatory.

JOB SUMMARY

Under supervision of the Special Events Lieutenant and general supervision of the Special Operations Bureau Captain, a special event officer will assist Park City Police Department with special events within Park City.

TYPICAL DUTIES

  • Primary Duties: Perform traffic control and pedestrian management during Park City Special Events Make decisions related to Park City and State of Utah laws to ensure consistent law enforcement and safety of Park City community and guests
  • If necessary: respond to major emergencies Performs emergency first aid and life-saving measures for suspects, citizens, and first responders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATICATONS

  • Current full-time law enforcement officer with a law enforcement agency in the State of Utah
  • Outside law enforcement agency must have current MOU with PCMC/PCPD
  • Utah P.O.S.T. category I certification.
  • Possess a valid Utah State Driver’s License.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The employee is occasionally required to use hands to manipulate objects, controls, or tools.
  • May be required to use physical force in course of assigned duties.
  • Potential hazard of physical attack or injury including the threat of edged weapons and firearms.
  • Work is performed primarily in office, vehicles, and outdoor settings with exposure to all weather conditions including extreme temperatures
  • Potential exposure to fire, chemical, electrical, and mechanical hazards
  • Potential exposure to bodily fluids, unknown and illicit substances
  • Frequent exposure to fast moving vehicles and motor vehicle accidents
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Physical strength, agility and/or endurance can be challenged by uncooperative individuals and can require the use of physical restraints in order to protect the individual, the officer, and uninvolved parties.
