Job Description
Park Nicollet is hiring a Security Badging Coordinator at Methodist Hospital. The Security Badging Coordinator oversees the issuance, maintenance and revoking of all physical access credentials within the HealthPartners organization. The roles ensure that colleagues, contractors, students, volunteers and visitors receive the appropriate access levels, maintain accurate records in access control systems, and support broader security operations through auditing, troubleshooting, and customer service.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: High school diploma/GED and 3+ years of relevant experience in security badging, credential management, access control administration/programming, or a closely related security systems function; OR 2-year college degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Ability to obtain required access-control system training and certifications within an established timeframe.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Working knowledge of physical access-control systems and security badging processes. Ability to accurately issue, activate, deactivate, replace, and maintain physical access credentials. Ability to assign access based on established role requirements, security policies, and authorization procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, confidential records. Ability to conduct routine access-control audits and identify discrepancies, expired access, and unauthorized access. Basic to intermediate troubleshooting and triage skills related to badges, card readers, badge printers, cameras, and access-control systems. Ability to handle confidential and security-sensitive information appropriately. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, as well as Adobe and other applications as required. Ability to learn and work across multiple access-control and credential-management platforms. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with Security, IT, Human Resources, and other departments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: 4-year College Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience in security badging, credential management, access control administration/programming, or a closely related security systems function Experience in healthcare security, hospital security, corporate security, or another complex multi-site environment. Experience supporting access control and badging operations across multiple facilities or locations.
- Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Access-control system certifications or formal training in AMAG, C•CURE, Genetec, or comparable systems. Other relevant security systems or credential-management certifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of access-control and credential-management systems. Experience administering role-based access, access levels, reader groups, schedules, holidays, and other access-control parameters. Advanced knowledge of badge printers, digital photography, credential production, and photo-management systems. Experience with RemotePhoto or comparable photo/badging applications. Experience performing access-control database audits and resolving access discrepancies. Advanced troubleshooting and triage skills related to access-control systems and credentialing equipment. Experience developing and maintaining procedures related to badging, credential management, and access control.
Credentialing and Access Management (50%)
- Issue, activate, deactivate and replace colleagues, contractor, students, volunteers and maintained detailed records in the access control systems.
- Assign access levels based on role requirements and security policies, ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Update user profiles, troubleshoot badge issues, and coordinate with IT and/or Security Systems team to resolve system errors.
Compliance and Auditing (30%)
- Conduct audits, tracking of lost and/or stolen badges and support the investigation into access anomalies.
- Perform weekly, monthly and annual audits of access control databases and immediately remove access to unauthorized or expired colleagues/contractors/Students/Vendors.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date user database, ensuring accurate record keeping and easy accessibility for team use.
Project Support (10%)
- Supports security systems leaders on the assigning and building of appropriate access levels, role-based access control, and schedules for specific staff roles and update existing access as sites are built, remodeled or additional access points ensuring alignment with security practices.
- Provides project support for the assigned security function. This includes preparing security documentation for internal processes and for internal/external audits.
- Supports Security initiatives and implementations of new software programs, tools, and others related programs as needed.
Customer Service and Office operations (10%)
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Responsible for managing badging supply levels.
- Support new hire onboarding process by coordinating photo capture, required information, credentials and proper approvals.
