The Assistant Banquet Operations Manager supports the Banquet Manager in overseeing the execution of all banquet and event functions at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore, ensuring every event is delivered to the highest standard of service and presentation. He/she assists in leading and scheduling the banquet service team, coordinates closely with kitchen and catering sales teams, and ensures that all event setups, service flows, and breakdown procedures are carried out efficiently. The incumbent plays a key role in maintaining guest satisfaction and resolving on-the-spot operational challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the full spectrum of banquet operations including setup, service, and post-event breakdown.
  • Ensure all function rooms are set up according to event orders and client specifications.
  • Drive operational excellence and consistency in service delivery across all events.
  • Monitor event flow and proactively address any issues to ensure smooth execution.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the Banquet Service team, including full-time and casual staff.
  • Assisting in planning and managing duty rosters as well as manpower deployment according to business needs.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to grooming, hygiene, and service standards.
  • Conduct training and on-the-job coaching to continuously uplift service quality.
  • Maintain a strong presence during events to engage with guests and ensure satisfaction.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly, ensuring service recovery and follow-up.
  • Build positive relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
  • Work closely with Catering Sales to understand event requirements and ensure flawless execution.
  • Coordinate with Culinary, Stewarding, and AV teams on menus, setups, and service flow.
  • Participate in banquet event order (BEO) meetings and ensure accurate communication of event details.
  • Support in achieving departmental revenue targets and managing operational costs.
  • Ensure proper control of equipment, inventory, and minimize wastage or losses.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in banquet operations in luxury hotel, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale banquet operations in luxury hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage operations, including Chinese banquet service.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Guest-centric mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple events simultaneously
