Experienced Automotive Parts Manager Parkway Ford / Parkway CDJR — Pampa, Texas

About The Position

Parkway is seeking an experienced automotive parts professional to lead our Parts Department, develop employees, maintain accurate inventory, and grow profitable sales. Store placement will depend on the candidate’s background and dealership needs.

We welcome candidates with leadership experience in dealerships, automotive parts retailers such as AutoZone, O’Reilly, NAPA, and Advance Auto Parts, wholesale distributors, and independent parts businesses. Franchise experience is preferred, not required.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Manage daily department operations, staffing, scheduling, and workflow.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, goals, and performance expectations.
  • Train and coach employees in parts identification, ordering, receiving, inventory control, pricing, and customer service.
  • Review performance regularly and follow through on improvement plans.
  • Maintain a professional, organized, and safe workplace.

Inventory and Purchasing

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, bin locations, and physical counts.
  • Set stocking levels using demand, sales history, availability, and manufacturer programs.
  • Review negative-on-hand quantities and resolve receiving, billing, and posting discrepancies.
  • Conduct cycle counts and coordinate physical inventories with management and Accounting.
  • Monitor aged and obsolete parts and execute reduction and return plans.
  • Oversee purchasing, receiving, vendor credits, returns, and core tracking.
  • Track lost sales to identify stocking opportunities.

Special Orders and Service Support

  • Verify correct part applications and provide accurate pricing and availability.
  • Track special orders from purchase through installation, delivery, or return.
  • Review jobs waiting on parts and communicate arrival dates and delays.
  • Notify the dispatcher or designated Service contact when parts arrive.
  • Coordinate parts support for customer repairs, warranty work, internal reconditioning, and accessories.
  • Communicate changes in part selection or pricing and obtain required approval before proceeding.

Financial Performance

  • Manage department sales, gross profit, expenses, and inventory investment.
  • Apply approved pricing policies consistently.
  • Monitor discounts and price overrides, document reasons, and follow approval requirements.
  • Review department reports and resolve discrepancies with Accounting and Service.
  • Establish measurable goals and present results and corrective actions to management.

Customer Service and Communication

  • Support retail, wholesale, and internal customers with accurate information and timely follow-up.
  • Resolve concerns professionally.
  • Build productive relationships with technicians, advisors, vendors, and customers.
  • Improve processes that reduce ordering errors, delays, and repeat work.

Qualifications

  • Automotive parts experience with demonstrated management or supervisory responsibility.
  • Experience leading employees, managing inventory, controlling expenses, and serving customers.
  • Ability to use electronic parts catalogs, inventory systems, and operating reports.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A record of accountability, accuracy, and professional conduct.
  • Willingness to learn Tekion, manufacturer ordering systems, warranty parts procedures, and dealership requirements.
  • Ford or Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Jeep experience is a plus, but is not required.

Compensation

Salary plus commission, based on experience and qualifications. Specific compensation terms and performance expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday; rotating Saturdays
