PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing health challenges.

PATH has extensive experience supporting countries to strengthen supply chain systems, improve commodity security, and enhance data-driven decision-making across malaria, maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), and other priority health programs.

PATH seeks a highly analytical and systems-oriented Senior Advisor, Performance Management and Analytics, to lead performance tracking and milestone management for a large, multi-country fixed-amount award spanning malaria, maternal, neonatal and child health (MNCH), HIV, tuberculosis (TB), and polio programs.

Under this award mechanism, payment is directly tied to achievement of defined milestone targets. The Senior Advisor, Performance Management and Analytics, will be responsible for establishing and managing a comprehensive milestone performance management system that enables PATH and country teams to monitor progress against more than 170 milestones across 13 countries, proactively identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure achievement of performance thresholds and full invoice payment.

This role sits at the intersection of program management, monitoring and evaluation, performance management, and data systems. Success will require not only strong data visualization and analytics capabilities, but also the ability to design practical systems, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and foster a culture of performance management and continuous improvement across global and country teams.

Responsibilities

Milestone Performance Management

  • Lead the design and implementation of a milestone performance management framework for a large fixed-amount award.
  • Maintain oversight of more than 170 milestones across 13 countries and multiple technical areas, including malaria, MCH, HIV, TB, and polio.
  • Establish standardized processes for milestone monitoring, verification, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Develop milestone attainment forecasts and performance projections to support financial and programmatic decision-making.
  • Monitor milestone achievement trends and identify potential risks to performance targets, payment schedules, and overall award success.
  • Ensure timely escalation of performance concerns and facilitate development of mitigation plans.

Performance Tracking Systems

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a centralized milestone tracking platform that integrates data from global and country-level sources.
  • Develop automated dashboards, scorecards, and performance monitoring tools that provide real-time visibility into milestone status.
  • Create systems for monthly milestone reviews, checkpoint assessments, and performance forecasting.
  • Establish data quality standards, reporting protocols, and documentation procedures to ensure reliable and consistent milestone tracking.
  • Ensure the tracking platform supports decision-making at global, regional, and country levels.

Collaboration with MEL and Country Teams

  • Partner closely with global and country Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) teams to align milestone tracking systems with existing monitoring frameworks.
  • Support country teams in understanding milestone requirements, performance indicators, and tracking methodologies.
  • Facilitate regular performance review meetings with technical, MEL, finance, and program teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and capacity strengthening to country teams on milestone monitoring and risk management.
  • Serve as the primary coordination point between global leadership and country implementation teams on milestone performance.

Risk Identification and Adaptive Management

  • Establish early warning systems to identify milestones at risk of underperformance.
  • Analyze root causes of performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work with program leads and country teams to develop and monitor implementation improvement plans.
  • Support adaptive management processes that enable timely program adjustments to maintain or improve milestone achievement.
  • Track implementation of mitigation actions and assess their effectiveness.

Data Visualization and Reporting

  • Develop executive-level dashboards and visualizations that communicate milestone performance, trends, risks, and forecasts.
  • Produce monthly performance summaries and portfolio-level status reports.
  • Translate complex performance data into actionable insights for senior leadership and program teams.
  • Create visual management tools that highlight milestones requiring intervention and support.

Strategic Performance Leadership

  • Promote a results-oriented approach to milestone achievement across the award.
  • Support annual planning, target setting, and performance review processes.
  • Collaborate with finance and award management teams to understand payment implications associated with milestone performance.
  • Advise leadership on performance trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improving achievement rates.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Public Health, International Development, Monitoring and Evaluation, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in program performance management, monitoring and evaluation, data analytics, project management, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting complex donor-funded global health programs in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and managing performance tracking systems and dashboards.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working across multiple countries and coordinating diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proven ability to translate data into programmatic and operational decision-making.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the country of hire.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with fixed-amount awards, results-based financing mechanisms, performance-based contracts, or milestone-driven funding models.
  • Experience supporting malaria, MCH, HIV, TB, polio, or broader global health portfolios.
  • Familiarity with donor compliance, award management, and program finance concepts.
  • Experience leading development of enterprise performance management systems.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks and methodologies.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
