NOTICE OF VACANCY English Teacher

Position: Teacher of English Language Arts with a probable schedule consisting of classes in English for high school students, mostly students in grades 9 &10. Pathfinder Tech is a four-year regional vocational technical high school with an enrollment of approximately 700 students in sixteen technical programs.

Qualifications: Candidates must be appropriately licensed as established by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education. The preferred candidate holds a valid DESE Moderate Disabilities license as established by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education. Undergraduate preparation in English. Master’s degree preferred.

Performance Responsibilities: Teach classes in accordance with state frameworks and approved curriculum. Plan and deliver well-structured lessons as stated in the MA Teacher Evaluation Rubric Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and deliver well-structured units of instruction. Provide assistance, support, and specialized instruction to students in classes as needed. Adapt lessons to meet the needs of students. Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation: The salary will be in accordance with the provisions of the approved Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School salary schedule. ($57,836-$100,154)

Position Type: Full-time school year position with benefits.

Benefits: Health insurance, dental insurance, and vision insurance are available. Paid family leave is available in addition to FMLA. Employees receive 15 paid sick days and 2 paid personal days each school year. College and university course reimbursement is offered. The MTRS pension plan is available, along with 457(b) and 403(b) retirement savings plans. Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts are also offered. The district provides numerous opportunities for professional development, conference participation, and training. Additionally, attractive longevity pay is granted beginning in the eighth year of service.

Effective Date of Position: Immediate.
