About the Opportunity

We are representing an established Singapore-based B2B services business seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager to lead its overall business operations, commercial performance and continued growth.

This is a senior leadership appointment with full accountability for the company's financial, operational and commercial performance.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple business functions, including Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales and Customer Service, ensuring effective execution, operational efficiency, profitability and sustainable business growth.

We are particularly interested in commercially astute, operationally strong leaders who can balance strategic direction with practical, hands-on management.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Management

  • Provide overall leadership and direction across the business, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational objectives.
  • Lead, develop and hold departmental managers accountable for performance and execution.
  • Drive business improvement initiatives, operational efficiencies and sustainable growth.
  • Identify business risks, resolve operational challenges and implement corrective actions.

Financial & Commercial Management

  • Assume full P&L accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability and financial performance.
  • Monitor operating costs, margins, working capital, debtors, inventory and capital expenditure.
  • Analyse financial and operational performance, identify variances and implement improvement measures.
  • Drive revenue growth, business development, customer retention and commercial opportunities.
  • Oversee pricing strategies, commercial contracts, tenders and key customer relationships.

Operations & Service Delivery

  • Oversee day-to-day business operations to ensure consistent service delivery, productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimise manpower planning, operational scheduling, resource allocation, logistics and fleet utilisation.
  • Establish effective processes, internal controls and performance monitoring systems.
  • Manage operational escalations and ensure timely resolution of customer and service-related issues.
  • Drive improvements in operational efficiency, service quality, cost control and asset utilisation.

People Leadership & Governance

  • Build and develop a high-performing, accountable management team.
  • Foster a positive, performance-driven workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Singapore regulations, corporate policies and governance requirements.
  • Provide regular financial, operational and business performance reports to senior management.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Management, Finance, Operations or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of senior management experience, preferably in an operationally intensive business.
  • Proven experience managing an entire business or major operating division with full P&L accountability.
  • Strong track record in operational management, business growth, profitability improvement and cost optimisation.
  • Experience leading multiple functions, including Operations, Sales, Finance and Customer Service.
  • Good understanding of manpower management, service delivery, operational planning and performance management.
  • Commercially driven, with strong financial acumen and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Hands-on, decisive and resourceful, with the ability to manage both strategic priorities and operational challenges.
