Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO)
Location: Greater Houston, Texas (Suburban Area) Experience: 3–5 Years Preferred Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) to join a highly respected, independently owned prosthetics and orthotics practice in the Greater Houston area.
Our client has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional, individualized patient care with an emphasis on quality, craftsmanship, and innovative solutions. Unlike many larger organizations, this practice performs all fitting and fabrication in-house, allowing practitioners to remain closely involved in every stage of the patient care process.
While the practice specializes in prosthetics, it offers a variety of orthotic and prosthetic services tailored to each patient's unique needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who enjoys hands-on patient care, values clinical independence, and wants to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop individualized prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans.
- Perform patient assessments, measurements, casting, fitting, adjustments, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with in-house fabrication professionals to design and deliver high-quality, custom prosthetic devices.
- Ensure proper device functionality, comfort, and patient satisfaction.
- Educate patients and their families on device use, maintenance, and rehabilitation.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with applicable professional and regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Deliver compassionate, personalized care while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) qualification required.
- ABC (American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics) certification or actively working toward ABC certification.
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, fitting, and patient care skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Commitment to individualized patient care and quality workmanship.
Please Note: At this time, candidates holding only BOC (Board of Certification/Accreditation) credentials will not be considered.
