Measurement & Quality Control Technician
PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF), one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are seeking a talented Measurement & Quality Control Technician to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Taft, CA.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the accurate measurement, sampling, testing, tracking, and reporting of crude oil movements while supporting custody transfer operations, inventory management, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance programs.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform custody transfer measurement activities.
• Collect and maintain crude oil samples for laboratory testing.
• Conduct quality control testing including API gravity, sediment and
water analysis, and other required product quality tests.
• Verify pipeline receipts, deliveries, and tank inventories.
• Perform inventory reconciliations and loss/gain analysis.
• Maintain measurement equipment calibration records and ensure
equipment accuracy.
• Coordinate with operations personnel, commercial teams,
laboratories, customers, and third-party stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and
company requirements.
• Perform duties at elevated work locations including tank roofs,
platforms, ladders, catwalks, and measurement facilities while
adhering to fall protection requirements.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements, quality control activities in
outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
• Travel through pipeline, tank farm, terminal, and related facilities to
perform measurement, sampling, inspection, and quality control
activities.
• Work nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts.
• Work overtime as necessary to support operational requirements and
emergency response activities.
• Respond to operational upsets, measurement discrepancies, product
quality concerns, and emergency situations outside normal working
hours.
• Maintain accurate measurement, inventory, quality control, and
regulatory compliance records.
• Support audits, inspections, and investigations related to
measurement accuracy, inventory control, and product quality.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Skills:
• 5 years of Measurement job experience.
• Must be decisive, but flexible in establishing high standards that
improve the organization, driven for accuracy.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot monitoring equipment and data
sets.
• Exceptional communications skill both written and verbal
• Capable of forward thinking to effectively coordinate maintenance of
facilities equipment in conjunction with third parties including
customers.
• Effective delegation promotes decentralization of decision making.
• Possess the ability to be a self-starter.
• Capable of working alone with minimal supervision
• Possess strong computer knowledge relevant to position
Equipment:
• Ability to comprehend how plant equipment functions according to
job responsibilities.
The salary range for this position is $32.37 - $55.00. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate’s compensation. Salaries at the time of hire are typically in the lower to middle portion of the above range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect future performance-based increases. In addition to salary, PBF offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
