The posting

Why we are looking for support

We are seeking a sharp, experienced and results-driven Senior Business Consultant specializing in Consumer Goods / FMCG to drive business transformation for our global consumer goods clients.

This is a German-speaking position. Professional fluency in German and English is required, as you will work directly with German-speaking clients and international project teams.

In this role, you will sit at the intersection of commercial strategy and digital enablement. You will act as the primary domain expert guiding consumer goods brands through the design, process optimization, and adoption of Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud, an enterprise Retail Execution (REX) and Trade Promotion Management platform.

You will translate complex commercial field operation and trade spend strategies into clear functional specifications and user-stories, ensuring technology solutions deliver measurable business value on the shop floor and in the boardroom.

Your tasks

Commercial Strategy & Business Process Design

  • Lead business discovery workshops to analyze, benchmark, and map end-to-end commercial processes across Retail Execution, Trade Promotion Management and Key Account Management.
  • Design standard operating procedures (SOPs) for field sales teams, including visit planning, store auditing, Perfect Store (PICOS) execution, order taking, merchandising compliance, and Direct Store Delivery (DSD).
  • Optimize trade spend workflows—including promotional planning, joint business planning (JBP), account budget allocation, rebate management, and post-event effectiveness (ROI) analysis.

Functional Leadership & Solution Alignment

  • Translate complex business requirements into clear functional user stories, process flow diagrams, business requirement documents, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner closely with Solution Architects and Technical Leads to ensure platform configurations directly align with commercial objectives while honoring standard platform capabilities.
  • Define and govern core master data requirements across store hierarchies, product assortments, price lists, trade terms, and planograms.

Training Delivery & Enablement

  • Develop end-to-end training materials, persona-based learning pathways, and where needed change management plans tailored for Field Sales Reps, Merchandisers, Key Account Managers (KAMs), and Sales Leadership.
  • Lead engaging training sessions, train-the-trainer (TtT) workshops, and hands-on simulation labs. Support the business in the delivery of end-user training (EuT)
  • Create user-friendly training collateral, interactive quick-reference guides, video micro-learning modules, and standard operating procedure (SOP) playbooks.

Stakeholder Management & Client Advisory

  • Serve as the trusted advisor to the business personas, including Key Account Managers (KAMs), Trade Marketing, Sales Operations, and Field Sales.
  • Drive change management, training strategy, and user adoption initiatives to ensure smooth transitions for field teams and back-office planners.
  • Facilitate solution playback sessions, functional validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with key client stakeholders.
  • Support pre-sales activities, including proposal development, solution demonstrations, and client discovery workshops.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business consulting or functional expertise in the FMCG / CPG industry, with a deep focus on Commercial Operations, Sales Enablement, or Trade Marketing.
  • Proven hands-on project experience implementing or optimizing enterprise REX and TPM systems (e.g., Salesforce CG Cloud, XTEL, TELUS Consumer Goods (Exceedra), L, SAP Trade Management, Vistex, or UpClear).
  • Thorough understanding of retail field execution (store audits, facing counts, share of shelf, out-of-stock monitoring) and trade spend mechanics (volume baselines, promotional lifts, accruals, claims, and deductions).
  • Strong capability in process modeling, functional gap analysis, and agile delivery frameworks (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Consumer Goods Cloud Accredited Professional, Sales Cloud Consultant) are a strong plus, not must haves.
  • Professional fluency in German (C1 level or equivalent) is required

Nice to Have

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex decisions to C-level executives and business/non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, multi-market rollout environments (Global/Regional templates).
  • Strong innovative mindset with the ability to pivot quickly, embrace change, and continuously learn in fast-moving client environments.
  • Strong capability to connect field-level execution metrics (KPIs) to top-line business growth and margin optimization.
  • Proactive approach to navigating ambiguity, managing scope shifts, and driving value in high-tempo project delivery cycles.
  • Outstanding presentation, workshop facilitation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build consensus across business and IT stakeholders.
  • German and English are a must, additional languages are considered a benefit.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
